Sofia sat sprawled on her bed beside her roommate, Nika. The room was filled with comfortable silence before Nika spoke up. "Is it ok if I ask; what even happened with you two. Y'know, you and Paige?"
Sofia looked at Nika sighing, "Sorry, should I not have asked that?" Nika panicked.
Sofia shook her head, smiling to comfort the girl beside her. "No it's fine. Um, we grew up together. Y'know we were best friends for over 10 years until senior year of high school she was like- mad or whatever that I got into our dream college and she didn't. So she just went around spreading stuff about me to the whole school for the whole last few weeks of school and so I just stopped talking to her."
Nika nodded slowly, yet she still had a confused look on her face. "Wait, but you're both here?"
Sofia chuckled a little, "Oh yeah," she laughed, "the college in question was University of Florida. But being the good friend I am, I turned them down and came here instead so that I wouldn't be there without her. Who would've figured we'd both end up here."
Nika smiled, "Listen, I don't really know Paige, but she seems like she feels bad and wants to fix it. It might be hard to let someone apologize after all that, but just.. give her a chance."
"Thanks, Nika. I'm working on it, I promise."
