Midoriya's feet slammed against the ground as he sprinted towards the commotion. Swiftly, he weaved between people on the crowded sidewalk.

When did I get so fast?

He didn't get to dwell on it long before he saw a large crowd forming in front of a large inferno. Slowing down, he squished his way through, mumbling apologies when he accidentally stepped on someone's shoe.
When he made it to the front he saw what he predicted - Bakugo in trouble. What Midoriya DIDN'T predict however, was that Bakugo was a hostage in a villain attack and-(oh, this is the cherry on top), the fact that HE KNEW THIS VILLAIN.

HE LITERALLY JUST ESCAPED THIS GUY AND HE WAS CAPTURED. How did he—

Remembering when he grabbed All Might's leg in a brilliant, read: desperate, attempt to get the hero's attention. He must've knocked the bottle-confined villain from All Might's pocket! Eyes wide and heart now heavy with guilt, Midoriya was frozen in place.

  Too stuck in his head to think, he just moved. This was his fault; he needed to fix it and he was going to.

The heroes' yelling fell to deaf ears as Midoriya pinpointed the sludge's weakness. Sludge is a liquid.. he has to find the part that he's willing to protect and—

His eyes!

The sludge man squints his eyes slightly, trying to protect them from the smoke and embers.

That's where he was weak! The only part of his body that isn't a liquid of sorts! Shrugging off his bag, he flung it towards the villain, hitting him straight in the eye. Bullseye!

Sprinting so hard he could taste blood in his mouth. He lunged forward to dig Bakugo free but a slimy tendril grabbed the wrist of his extended arm and lifted him up into the air. He was now on eye level with Mr. Green Grimace.

Joy.

"What's wrong? Slime got you stuck? If you really wanted to be my meat suit that badly, you could've just asked. No need to get jealous."

Oh. Well that's nasty. Kin— Shut. Up.

His thoughts must have shown on his face as the villain only laughed as the explosions died down. Wait- dying down? Dying—

...

Oh sheet. KACCHAN IS LOSING OXYGEN!

With his determination set ablaze once more, he did something he thought he could only do in his dreams.

He kicked the villain in his other eye, causing his grip to loosen before he kicked the one he hit with his bag earlier. He freed himself from the loose binds before he tackled Bakugo in order to free him from the slime as well.

They landed on the ground in heap, Bakugo yelling out, "What the hell Deku?! Why're YOU here?!" He tried to pull his wrist from Midoriya's grasp but he wouldn't let up.

Now, Midoriya has no idea what he's doing. He's just going off of instinct. He dragged Bakugo by the wrist, dodging the debris. They were almost with the crowd before, "No need to fear. Why? Because.. I AM HERE!"
