Annabeth walked through the marble halls of the hero agency, admiring the arches across the ceiling. She stopped at a smooth oak door; a plaque next to it said "Athena: Head of Detectives," in a swirly font. Annabeth knocked on the door, stopping when the door opened almost immediately.
"Annabeth, Annabeth, I'm glad you're here. Come on, this case is urgent." The brown-haired woman said, beckoning Annabeth into her office.
Annabeth wandered in, sitting in the plush chair in front of Athena's desk. After several seconds of searching, Athena walked back over and plopped a manilla folder full of paper onto the desk.
"Here you go. All of the case information for Aqua. Unfortunately, neither Hera nor Zeus had the bright idea that since the previous rebellion, we should actually ask the heroes to disclose personal names. So, you get to search- deeply? Thoroughly? What do you think is the better word?" Athena rambled.
"Oh- uhm, thoroughly,"
"Right you are. Alright, enjoy your case." Athena shoved the folder into Annabeth's hands.
"Uh- Athena," Annabeth started.
"Yes?"
"Nevermind."
Annabeth held the folder close to her chest and walked out the door, hearing Athena close it behind her.
When Annabeth went back down to the Detective's level, she ran into her office, past one of the other curious looking detectives. She put the folder onto the desk, grabbing her laptop from a shelf near a few miscellaneous objects. When she sat down at her desk, she was entirely prepared to start the case. Putting her hair into a messy ponytail, she opened the folder and looked at the first paper.
Aqua. Finished training after just one year, has been a registered hero for 4 years. Water powers. ADHD and dyslexia, as common with several of the heroes. He was on the industry's most famous team- team Star- and his last major project was Project Gold. The only people on the list for notable attachments were the other members of team Star.
Annabeth would have to ask about him to the other team Star members soon; for now, it was time for basic research.

"Percy. Jackson. What Were You. Thinking." Rachel's eyes were full of disbelief.
"Look, I couldn't stand around while they did- you know what they did!"
"I- I know. But you can't just- just leave! Percy, they could ruin you. Have one of their sneaking detectives go and expose your identity."
"I'm not that worried about it. I'm like...fifty percent sure they won't find me."
"What the Tartarus."
Percy sighed and turned away from Rachel's intense gaze. He looked into the city, watching all the normal people pass; they were all blissfully unaware of the corruption and chaos within the messy world of heroes, villains, and those in between. He looked back when a waiter brought out two drinks to their table. It was a local coffee shop that Rachel had chosen, with brick walls and outside seating.
"Alright. Y'know what? We can work with you leaving." Rachel said, before taking a sip of iced coffee.
"We can?" Percy questioned.
"Of course. How do you feel about being a villain?"
"Oh absolutely. No questions asked, I would love to fight with Skyl- I mean, fight the terrible hero committee."
"Uh huh. great. I'll help design your costume. Do you have anything from being a hero that you want?"
"My signature sword, of course."
