*DING*
The elevator dinged, signalling their arrival at the basement floor. As the doors slid open, Jun and Minju stepped out, their playful banter easing the tension of what awaited them in the depths below.
The basement was more cavernous than either Jun or Minju had anticipated, filled with stacks of wooden crates and musty old furniture draped in white sheets.
"They have two basement floors; we need to clear and check this first." He said to her
They moved quickly but quietly,Jun is using a flashlight that he took from the dead guards to navigate the labyrinth of shadows."Here." Jun handed her another flashlight, which had some blood on it.
Now he is only armed with Minju's glock 17, while she is holding on to her two steel batons that she took from the filing crew van.
"He he he he..."
A husky laugh echoes through the basement hallways, spooking both of them.
"Did you hear that?" He asked, to which she replied with a nod."Hehehhehehe...."
Another laugh creeps through the hallway as the darkness covers them.
Jun and Minju moved cautiously through the dark hallways, their footsteps echoing softly against the cold stone floor mixed with wooden planks. Each turn seemed to lead them deeper into the labyrinthine depths of the basement.
As they rounded another corner, they were met with a long hallway lined with doors on either side. The doors were dark oak and weathered, some hanging off their hinges, others closed tight as if hiding dark secrets within.
Jun glanced at Minju, his expression tense. "Which way?" He whispered, his voice barely audible in the silence.
Minju shook her head, unsure. "I don't know," she replied with an uneasy feeling.
Their eye caught a rather interesting door—not an oak door like the others, but a solid, dark wooden door. Lower it, and there's a square door that looks like a pet door.
Before Jun stepped closer,Minju stopped him and pointed at the doorknob.
"A smart lock doorknob? That's just weird." She commented.
"Yeah, plus the door is opened a little."
They cautiously pushed it open, revealing a small. The walls were stained with some dark-looking liquid, and the floor was covered in dust and debris. There is a chain lying down in the corner, and there are three red buckets on the other side of the room.
Suddenly, their nose got shoved with a very unpleasant smell.
"Uurrrghhhh..." Minju closed her nose with her left hand before gripping Jun's shirt. Jun coughed because of the smell.
"Smell like shit...." He mumbles before they get out of the special room.
They shake off the dizziness because of the smell.
"Never go back there again." She made a mental note for herself."Hey, did you notice two plates before at the side of the door."Jun asked, which gained her attention.
"I do; one is empty while the other has some weird-looking meat on top." She replied.
SUDDENLY,a stepping noise could be heard behind them. They quickly turned and raised their weapons.
"Whoa....calm down..."
Jun tightened his grip on his gun, ready to defend himself and Minju.
"Minju-ya, stand back and cover me from behind." He said this as she proceeded.
