I don't know what is worse, the fact that my tears had completely soaked my face, bed and everything else or never being able to see Max again, finally I felt like a normal kid for once I'm just so angry! I grabbed my phone which is the one normal thing I had, and I had gotten a text, that was a first it was from mother, like I wanted to answer.
"Lainey, dear please do not over-react there is nothing fretting of me not allowing you to meet some imbecile that is an awful influence to you."
I decided to send back a message, " Mother, Maximus was the first thing I had to being normal and you and father are keeping me from making friends, I'm considered a freak at school and Max made me feel normal, he is an American that is why he dosen't meet your stupid 'requirements' and I don't care what you think about my attitude ok, I don't want you to be like this."
And she never replied. I packed my duffle bag with clothes and everything else, and left I was running away all I could think about was seeing Max, and how awful mother is, she's so protective and I literally hate it! Why can't she be like a normal mom? That play with you, don't correct my grammar or manners, actually cares what I think and about my life, and would respect my friends and what they think of me. I ran past the park towards his street, took a left and was at his home, I knocked on his door and immediately regretted it, I was truly worried. Lucy answered, "look Luce I need a favor do you mind if I stay with you tonight, without your parents knowing, I'm in some trouble at home and I really need you and Max to help."
"Lainey, you are welcome to stay, I won't tell mommy, daddy's away at work and Max is up in his room, he been really sad lately. Without you, you were the first person who had been normal without questioning us."
"Thanks I really needed that, wait, what do you mean about being questioned?"
"Oh well the war and stuff."
"What war, Lucy what's going on?"
"Well my dad's in the Navy, and lately Britain has been having some problems with Europe and Russia, so the U.S was called here to help that's why we're here. And lately Americans are being questioned about if they're really here to help or if they are spy's so we haven't been liked lately."
I was shocked, I couldn't believe what I was hearing, yet I was angry and my mom? I wasn't leaving though. Finally someone like me misunderstood, striving for someone like me.
"Lucy, who was at the door."
"No one mom, some weird kids."
"Ok dear, go freshen up and then feel Max to come down for dinner."
"Yes ma'am."
We started upstairs and took a right towards Max's room. "Max you really should let me in."
"Lucy, just leave me alone, go away."
"No, Max you really really should let me in."
"Fine."
He opened the door I smiled, he had a ghostly face but soon started smiling and hugged me, I hugged him back, I missed him.
"Lainey, what are you doing here?"
"Well I'm in trouble at homes so I'm staying the night here don't tell anyone, neither my parents or your actually know.
