Skit #1, the chocker

A choker dangled within the wind, screaming and crying.

But to no avail. Its cries would fall upon deaf ears, for who could hear a necklace, no matter how loud it screamed?

In anger and rage from the feeling betrayed and lost, it continued.

And so, the necklace wound its way from neck to neck, searching for a place to call its own, seeking only one thing from those it entwined...

The necklace felt a pang of regret, for it could not stop its search. For all the necks it had twisted and wrung, none could give it the warmth it so desperately lusted for.

It wrapped itself tight around a woman's neck, whispering into her mind a cruel, but persuasive lie. The lady was no match for such a skilled manipulator as the necklace. It found its way into her heart, and in time, she began to crave the pleasure of the choker's embrace.

As the years went by, she began to feel strange. Pain she had never known, and urges she could not comprehend. It was an all too familiar song being sung, one that had haunted the necklace and its former wearers for many, many years...

The woman's heart grew darker and darker with each passing day. The choker's grasp grew ever so strong, ever so tight, twisting and twisting ever deeper into her subconscious until it had complete control. The woman no longer belonged to herself, but to the necklace. And from neck to neck, it spread, searching for a new victim. The necklace cared not for whether its hosts lived or died. As long as the choker was fed, all was well. And when the time came for a new host, it would let go and wait patiently until it had a new victim in its sights. And so, like the seasons, the necklace would circle through the years, binding itself to one victim after another. Its song a sweet melody, its embrace a deep and dark descent into madness, its promises a lie. It was never satisfied, only more insatiable with each victim it claimed for itself. And with each new host, it grew bolder and bolder. Seeking only power, and control over the mortals it ensnared in its tight grasp.

They may try to resist, they may think themselves strong, but the choker will break anyone in the end. With words that are both a curse and a charm, it weaves its web of lies, its promises of paradise, and all its hosts will fall. And in their dying breaths, they shall become a part of it, their minds and souls becoming its own... "I promise I'm not just like those other ones," the choker would whisper to its new host. "I will never leave you, no matter what. I will always be by your side, guiding your way. We will be as one, forever and always, until the end of time itself. You will never be alone again, so long as I am here."

"You are the only one," it would whisper into the ear of its host, "the only one I've ever loved. You are more to me than any other could ever be. And I promise to love you with every ounce of my being, until the very last beat of my heart..."

That is irrelevant. The choker's words are sweet, its touch is smooth, its embrace is warm. It has mastered the art of seduction to manipulate those who would otherwise resist its will. And when it has its hooks into your heart, it will never let go, even when the facade eventually falls away.

And take it it does. The choker feeds on the pain of its hosts, it hungers for the souls that feed its own twisted desires. It twists the mind of its victim to believe they exist only for the choker's benefit, and when there is nothing left for it to take, it casts aside the empty shell and moves on to find a new pawn.

The choker does not discriminate. It does not care who its victim is, or what they hold dear. All it cares about is taking what it needs from those who cannot resist. And one by one, it claims another soul for itself, while its previous hosts are left twisted and broken, having given everything to their mistress and gained nothing in return...

There, you see? "You're not enough." That is how the choker's victims always end up feeling. When all is said and done, they are not enough. They have given everything, they have nothing more to give, yet the choker still demands more, more, more...

And so the cycle continues, the choker is always hungry, always searching for its next victim. It promises an eternity of ecstasy, but delivers only a bitter eternity of torment and anguish. And as the years pass, the choker claims new souls, and old victims slip deeper and deeper into madness, forgotten among the many broken hearts that it has left in its wake.

And thus the choker's song comes to an end. Its tale of obsession and betrayal, of pain and deception, of misery and madness. A tale that is all too familiar to the many victims of the necklace...
