After the call Dan walks away into the bedroom shutting the door behind him. Hmm was it good news,bad news i needed to know i wait for a moment standing by the door ,after a few minutes the door opens and i try to apper as though im not waiting for him
"Al..." he looks up at me and walks towards me,i didnt know what to think
"We got the contract " he wraps his arms around me
"Dan thats amazing ,we should have a party "
"Yeah thats a great idea ...wait Al you have work dont you?"
"Ah yeah the night shift ..tomorrow? "
"Tomorrow it is " he smiles and leans in to kiss my cheek
I look up at him "im so proud of you" and lean into him.
"I best be off to work, urrgh night shift " i mutter leaving Dans arms
I walk to work beeming the thought that my Flatmate had a record deal
Then it hit me, what if my mother was Dans Boss...would it change anything ,i wasn't even sure if she was ,maybe i should ask her ,ah Al shh you're overthinking it all jist be happy.
I arrived at the store door to find a young girl 16 maybe standing outside
"Alexa" she asks
"Umm yeah..."
"Im the new student worker ,millie said you would show me the job"
Ahh of course ,shit i forgot well done Al leave a 16 year old in the cold night.
I let the girl in and show her the building talking her through it ,we eventually just end up sitting down talking as nobody ever comes into tje store at this time.
"Sorry i didnt get your name"
"Abby ,Abby Thornton " she says with a smile ,the name seemed familiar but i dont know why.our conversation is muted by the ring of her phone ,she looks at me as if shes embarrassedit went of in "work"
"Go on answer it" i nod and chuckle, she leaves it and desides to text back
"Sorry its my boyfriend " urgh everyone has one but me...well i dont but sometimes with Dan you wouldn't know it. She continues "his band have just been signed " she jumps a little
"Notice?" I ask half sure
"Um yeah ,how'd you ..oh wait Dan?" She smiles
"Yeah...how do you know that" ah well you've come up in conversation
I try not to blush "what me? ...what sort of conversation " i ask not sure if i knew what to expect
"Ah just nothing ,oh shit its gone shut time"she jumps up ,wow even a newbie knows the shift better than i do.
I arrive back at my apartment to find Dan sat with two boxes of pizza besides him
"Figure you'd be hungry " he pats the seat signalling for me to sit next to him
"Let me change Dan" i walk off into the bedroom
"Why ,you look great already "he shouts in and although he's not visible i knew he'd be smiling
"Ooooh great is it " i mocked him
"Ay great then and great now" he smiles and winks
"Urgh shut up " i laugh as he wraps one arm around me
"Awh you dont know how amazing you are do you?" He looks down at me
As i sit there blushing bright red.
"Obviously not " i reply and i reach in to the pizza box tearing off a slice
"What time does work finish tomorrow?" He askes randomly flipimg the conversation.
"6 normal time why?"
"We need to set up the party" he stared into my eyes with joy
"8 sound okay" i ask
"8 sounds perfect "he lets out a chuckle ,i seemed more excited than he was "I really am so glad you got it Dan ,im so happy for you " he looks up and smiles
"Al the time" he looks in shock ,i had a class in 3hours
"Awwwh" i moan like a upset puppy
"Ay dont look like that ,dont make me carry you to bed " i wonder if he actually would ,but whilst i way up my options, i find myself slung over his shoulders and through the hall to my bed ,he lays me down
"Not joining me" i ask hoping he would
"Nah im staying up ,il wake you up for your class ,and if your lucky might make you breakfast, nighty " he whispers as he leaves the room.
I briefly lay awake wishing i was in Dans company rather than needing sleep to avoid zombie looks the morning after.
