Listening to the professor I couldn't understand a word as his words blurs into background noise.
As i was lost on the events that took place moment ago.My attention shifted from my thoughts to the person seated on the left, his attention unwavering on the professors words.
As the class was coming to end the professor speaks breaking the silence "Jeon Jungkook," the professor called out, gesturing for him to come forward. With a reluctant shuffle, Jungkook rose from his seat and stepped to the front of the room.
"Hello, my name is Jeon Jungkook," he began, his voice confident despite the unexpected attention. "I studied business at Harvard, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, I find myself back here in my home country." His smile was charming, but there was a hint of something more behind it, something hard to recognise.
With a nonchalant shrug, he attempted to retreat to his seat, but a sudden realization halted him in his tracks.
"Ah, I almost forgot," he muttered, turning back to face the room.
"My apologies to the toppers, but now that I'm here, that place belongs to me." His words hung in the air,a challenge wrapped in a smirk.
For a fleeting moment, his gaze flickered in my direction before he gathered his belongings and slipped out of the lecture hall.
"Wow, he's so hot,"
Kelly exclaimed to her friend, her eyes fixed on Jungkook as if he were her latest conquest. For Kelly, every handsome guy was a target, part of her mission to cycle through them like fashionable accessories.
"You watch, I'll make him my boyfriend,"
she declared confidently, her words laced with determination.
"No one can resist my charms and beauty."
With a flick of her hair, she grabbed her designer bag, her friends trailing behind as they all exited the class.
As they walked, Kelly plotted her next move, already envisioning Jungkook falling under her spell like so many before him. Little did she know.
12:15 pm
Sitting on the benches, I watched as Emily munched on her sandwich, the rhythmic sound of her chewing providing a comforting background to my thoughts. Folding my legs beneath me, I settled into the bench, retrieving my phone to reply to Anna's message before returning my gaze to the serene scenery spread out before me.
(Jade??)
(Jade?)
Why isn't he answering me??
The garden, adjacent to the university parking lot, lay deserted, the usual hustle and bustle of students replaced by an unusual calmness. Our professor had canceled today's class, granting an unexpected break from the academic routine.
This university, an elite institution beyond my financial reach, had granted scholarships to only three students, myself included. Adjusting to life here had been a challenge; despite having Anna by my side, I often felt like an outsider. Most of the other students, particularly the girls, kept their distance, engaging in polite small talk with me then going back to their group of friends.
It wasn't until my second year that Emily transferred to the university. Instead of gravitating towards the popular, well-connected girls, she reached out to me. Despite my reserved nature, she kept talking to me and gave me company, reassuring me that it was okay if I didn't talk much – she would gladly fill the silence with her own chatter. She was a true friend, an example of warmth and kindness .
Startled from my thoughts by the roar of a motorcycle engine, I turned to see a sleek black bike pulling up beside a similarly dark car. And there he was, none other than Jungkook, clad entirely in black, emitting an aura of rebellion tempered by unexpected charm.
Dressed in a snug, form-fitting black shirt topped with a sleek leather jacket, and black jeans accentuating his muscular and tall frame, Jungkook emitted an effortless coolness. A chain dangled around his neck, adding to his edgy allure.
As he removed his helmet, his movements were fluid, his hands resting casually on his thighs as he cracked his neck, ear loops dangling from his ears as he tilted his head from side to side. With a confident stride, he get down from the motorcycle and headed towards the entrance but before entering his gaze turns toward our direction .
Caught off guard by his sudden glance in our direction, I quickly averted my gaze, pretending to be engrossed in my notes.
"Snap out of it, Y/N," I scolded myself silently, unwilling to go through same past horrible experiences.
After a few tense moments, I stole a secret glance in his direction, relieved to find that he had disappeared from view. With a sigh of relief, I returned my focus to my surroundings, grateful for the escape from his captivating presence.
"Lets go y/n class is gonna start in about 5 min come lets gooo "smiling at her i take her hand as she forward it for me to take it .
Friday 4:00pm
Walking out of the university gates, I bid farewell to Emily and joined Anna, heading towards our shared dormitory.
"So, did he say anything to you today?"
Anna asked cautiously as we enter our dorm, her expression tinged with concern as she settled onto her bed.
Shaking my head, I reassured her, "Anna, I don't think he even remembers me. He hardly attends classes, and when he does, he never tries to talk to me or even spare me a glance. Don't worry."
With that, I made my way to the cupboard, retrieving some packets of ramen from within. Knowing we were both too exhausted for a proper dinner, I headed to the mini-kitchen to prepare a quick and easy meal for us to share. As the noodles boiled, filling the air with their savory aroma, I couldn't help but wonder what tomorrow would bring .
Monday 7 :50am
Sitting at my usual seat in the first class, I opened my laptop and waited for the lesson to begin. Emily couldn't join me today; she was off attending her uncle's wedding with her family.
8:25am
Midway through the class, the door swung open abruptly, drawing everyone's attention. Jungkook strolled in, ignoring the professor, and made his way towards his seat.
"Gosh, stop looking at him," I scolded myself, though my eyes betrayed me, sneaking glances in his direction.
To my surprise, he didn't head to his usual spot but settled in the seat beside mine. My breath caught in my throat as he pulls out his laptop without any glance in my direction, fully engrossed in the lecture.
His proximity overwhelmed me; I could smell his intoxicating scent, a blend of cedar, sandalwood, and a hint of untamed wilderness. I considered moving to another seat but hesitated, not wanting to disrupt the class. As I shifted slightly, intending to move to the seat beside me to make some space between us, a gentle yet firm grip on my wrist stopped me in my tracks.
