                                          Monday

                                            10:am

peeking into the room, and after confirming he wasn't there, I sighed in relief.

Adjusting the cap on my head and the mask over my face, I entered the auditorium for the lecture.

Skipping the morning class wasn't part of my to do list, but what choice did I had? I had no confidence to face that good-looking devil that looked like a walking fashion store.

"And after that little incident (ahem), I'm pretty sure I made it onto his enemies list.

Jade: "Then why are you so afraid?"

"I'm not afraid—just cautious."

settling into the last bench, tucked away in the dim corner of the lecture hall, a spot mostly forgotten by everyone. I placed my bag and laptop on the table that stood in front of the bench and took a seat, feeling both invisible and safe.

I puff air into my hands to keep them warm, the air conditioner right behind me blasting cold air that feels like it's freezing me.

I scan the side walls for the remote, hoping to adjust the temperature. It's usually tucked away on those old wooden shelves.

After finally finding the remote and turning up the heat, I sink deep into the soft cushions of the bench, feeling a little better already.

But my peace is shattered when I spot the all-in-black figure of the person I desperately want to avoid.

Ducking my head slightly, I try to act natural, as if I were yet another regular student wearing a cap and mask in this hot summer.

Dumb.

"Please don't see me.
Please don't see me.
Please don't see me.
Please don't see me."

The mantra echoes in my mind as I hope to remain invisible.

All my prayers seemed to fall on deaf ears as I suddenly heard him call my name. The sound of heavy footsteps echoed as they approached, drawing closer with each passing moment.

With no choice but to look up, I see the furious, jacked bunny-like figure approaching, with furious look.

If he were a cartoon character, I have no doubt that steam would be puffing from his head right now—maybe even fireworks shooting from his ears, with bullets darting from his furious eyes.

He stops in front of me, pursing his lips as if trying to contain his anger, and then grabs my bag, tossing it over his shoulder.

"Get up. We need to talk."

slowly looking up into his eyes, I clear my throat and offer a nervous smile as if he could see my face behind the mask.

"Hey..." I chuckle awkwardly, trying to ease the tension.

Rolling his eyes, he takes my wrist in a firm yet gentle grip and drags me along with him.

"Slow down! Why don't we talk in here, huh?" I mumble slowly, hoping no one else can hear us as I try to reason with this raging bull.

Being in a class full of people feels safer than being alone somewhere else.

"Kook! There you are! I was—"

Ignoring Kelly as she tries to kiss his cheek, he positions me as a shield between himself and her, frowning in her direction.

And Out of nowhere, he gives me a death stare.
