"Jungkook, enough," I snapped, annoyed, pulling his hands away from me.

We were sitting on the rooftop's cracked concrete, the air cool and soft against my skin. The breeze moved through the night, gentle enough to be calming—if I hadn't been trapped beside him.

True to his word, he hadn't left my side after finding me in the cafeteria.

"But I'm cold," he whined, scooting even closer.

The hell.

"Oh my God, leave me, Jungkook. I can't deal with you anymore. Just leave me!" I snapped, slapping his hands away and standing up.

I walked off the rooftop without another word.

My footsteps echoed in the hall as I headed straight for the room where I'd seen the creature before, hoping it was still there—hoping it was real, hoping it was proof that I wasn't losing my mind.

But the room was empty.

Unknowingly, a sigh of relief slipped out of me.

Maybe it was all in my head.

Maybe I was sick. Maybe I was hallucinating. Maybe I had cancer, and my brain was turning against me.

I tried to push those thoughts away, planning to get myself checked as soon as possible.

Then, suddenly, I felt hands creeping around my waist.

Cold fingers slid gently from my back to my sides, wrapping around me like a ribbon. His grip tightened at the front.

Heat radiated from his body as I heard his low chuckle near my ear.

"You came back here again?" he murmured, voice soft and amused. "Why... oh, you want us to have some privacy in there?"

He smirked, turning his head slightly toward the girl standing frozen in front of him—her body stiff, eyes wide, as if she feared that any movement might get her torn apart.

My heart slammed in my chest.

Jungkook's presence was close, too close.

And something about the way he held me—possessive, intense—made the air around us feel dangerous.

Frozen, I turned my head around—only to relax when I realized it was just him.

For a moment, I had been sure the monster had returned.

"I don't know why you get such ideas," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "Nothing like that is ever going to happen between us, Jeon. So please remove your hand. I'm not a fan of hugs."

I kept my tone cold, firm.

He went still for a second, then slowly let his hand fall limp at his side.

He stared everywhere except at me.

"Well... neither do I think like that," he said, his voice tight. "Stop acting like that. I was just teasing you..."

He glanced away again, unable to meet my eyes.

Then, without another word, he walked out of the classroom.

The door shut behind him with a soft click, leaving me alone in the quiet.

And for a moment, I couldn't tell if I felt relieved....

Thank God classes were finally over.

And I didn't even have to go to work today.
