After around half an hour I returned to the café where Veer was waiting for my arrival. When I reached the café, Veer was sitting at the last table near the clear glass window facing sea.
He didn't noticed me. He was looking out of the window. The view before me was mesmerizing. He looked so calm.
Everytime I saw him waves of serenity passed through me. Once again for the second time today I was standing across him, staring at him. Observing him.
Just then I was caught off guard when he diverted his gaze from the window to me. He seemed perplexed by watching me staring at him like an idiot.
"Hey? You okay?",his voice brought me back.
"I... I... okay.. no.. sorry that... I..",I was fumbling terrible and was so embarassed as well. He got up from his seat a walked towards me while carrying a glass of water. "Just calm down. Take a seat and have some water.",He spoke softly.
I obeyed and gulped down all the water. "Thanks", my voice came out as if I was short of breath. "Whats wrong? Saw some ghost or what?",he spoke with laughter mixed in his sweet voice. Finally I spoke, "I am really sorry. I just zoned out I guess."
I just hoped he didn't catch my lie. I really was a terrible liar.
"Did you get the work done?", Veer asked while sipping his coffee.
"Yeah..Did I made you wait for long?", I asked just to keep the conversation going. "No, not really. I was enjoying the view. It's quite pretty.",he spoke while looking at the glass window. "Yeah true. Bombay sunsets are truly a bliss", I spoke while looking in the same direction as him. That day what I found more blissful other than the sunset was the view in front of me- Veer. When he looked out of the window, the warm hues of the setting sun fell on his face making him look exquisite. Once again I was drooling over him. I literally had to push down my urge to take out my phone and snap a picture of him. Those brown eyes of his were mesmerizing. Just when I was busy starring at him, the waiter came up to us with bill. Even though he didn't noticed I was kind of embarrassed though. Soon he paid the bill and we were off to visit another place. “ It would become dark now, I don't think we can visit another place..”, Veer said with disappointment in his tone. “For your kind information mister, this city never sleeps. So, no matter what time of day it is, there's always a place you can go to Mumbai.”, I replied proudly.
