Match Day

Avyuktha was getting ready just then she felt a pair of hands on her eyes which were closing her eyes, She was startled for a moment just then she heard a feminine voice 'Soooo tell me who I'm Yukii' and she immediately realised who was the owner of the voice so she smiled and said "Sam!!" And then the hand was taken off from her eyes and when she turned around she hugged the person in front of her.

"I missed you so much Sam yaar" and then she received a smack on her back and got a reply  'Lier! You don't even call me often and here you are telling me that you missed me' and then both of them laughed.

'So Miss Avyuktha Tiwari how are you' the girl asked to which Avyuktha hit her head and said "I'm really good Miss Samridhi Singh as you can see." Samridhi just laughed and then they both continued their conversion by talking about random things.

After talking for half an hour there was a beep on Samridhi's phone so she checked the notification and her lips formed a huge smile. Seeing her smile like this Avyuktha asked her "What happened Sam? Why are you smiling like this?" to which Samridhi just hugged her tightly and after breaking the hug she said 'You know what.. I have a surprise for you' she said excitedly and held Avyuktha's hand and went outside the room and while they were going outside the house Avyuktha's brother, Ritwik stopped them 'Where are you going guys? That too in this hurry? Has anything happened?' he asked being genuinely curious.

Samridhi just gave Ritwik a done expression and said 'You know what Ritwik bhai you can also join us let's go fast come' and she held Ritwik's hand too and took both the brother and sister to her car. In the car both Ritwik and Avyuktha looked at each other in questionable expression and then Avyuktha asked Samridhi "Where are you taking us Sam?" And further Ritwik said 'Are you kidnapping us Samridhi?' Avyuktha just laughed at the statement and Ritwik also joined her laughter while Samridhi glared at them and then both of them stopped laughing.

'It's a surprise for you Yuki so I can't tell you but we will reach the place soon and I can't tell anything to you too Ritwik bhai cause you can't digest a single thing in your stomach and then you'll end up ruining my surprise' Samridhi told while keeping a serious expression while Avyuktha looked at her brother who was now just shocked to hear this and had an expression less face and then she laughed at him and Samridhi also joined her this time and then she countinued to drive the car to reach the Surprise destination.

On the other hand-

The Indian cricket team players were practicing hard for the bilateral ODI series match against New Zealand they had the following day. Ishan was doing his batting practice while Bumrah was bowling to him and Siraj was practicing bowling in the nets against Virat and while others were practicing fielding.

Dhruv was working really hard in the practice session as it was his debut match in ODI international for India. He was quite excited as well as nervous because representing his country was his dream and he felt really lucky that among so many people he has gotten the chance to represent India so it was a really important match for him and he wanted to show everyone what he's capable of.

And now it was the time for giving debut cap to the player who is going to debut today so Rohit and Rahul Dravid came forward to do that and now it was the time for Dhruv to get the cap and he was sweating in nervousness so Rinku who was standing close to him patted his back encouraged him and then he received the cap from the Captain Rohit Sharma and everyone clapped for him and he hugged Rohit and Rohit also said some words of appreciation for Dhruv while Rahul Dravid also congratulated him for his debut and wished him good luck for the match, soon after sometime it was the time of getting ready for the match so everyone went to the dressing room and got ready quickly.

And here Samridhi stopped the car and both Avyuktha and Ritwik started looking around their surroundings but before they could do that Samridhi told them to get off the car while she was going outside the car. Now Samridhi, Ritwik and Avyuktha were standing inside the stadium while the field was getting set up for the cricket match and Samridhi was having a proud smirk on her face and she gazed at Avyuktha and Ritwik and found them standing like they have seen a ghost or something. Samridhi shooked Avyuktha and when she came out of her thoughts she gasped while Ritwik started jumping in excitement and then both of them looked at Samridhi and said "Thank you so much Sam" , 'Thank you so much Samridhi' and then they looked at each other and then both of them went to Samridhi and gave her a bone crushing hug and she also hugged them back and like this they shared a memorable group hug.

Now it was the time for the toss so Rohit went to do the toss on the ground and then he and Kane shook hands with each other while all the other players were watching the scene from the tv in the dressing room. Rohit won the toss and chose to bowl and then after sometime all the players who were in the playing 11 went on the crease.

And here there was a girl whose eyes were stick towards the field as she was watching the players entering the ground. Avyuktha has always been a cricket fan since she was a child because of her father and brother as they were also huge fans and she was feeling really happy that she has come to watch the Indian team play for the first time in front of her and she was feeling goosebumps all over her body.

As Dhruv entered the ground he couldn't help but feel all the weird sensations happening to him cause of his nervousness but he encouraged himself and told himself to be confident.

Ishan was doing wicket keeping for the match so Dhruv was made to stand near the slips and the match started. Siraj came to bowl the first over and he took a wicket in the first over itself and everyone went towards him and patted his back and hugged him.

Avyuktha was watching all this happening in front of her eyes and she couldn't believe it and as Siraj took the wicket she jumped in excitement and hugged her brother who was also sharing the same excitement as her.

The game continued and now 30th over was going on and New Zealand was 199/4 and Kuldeep was bowling and on the crease was Kane Williamson and he hit a shot in the air and the ball went near the slips and Dhruv took the catch by jumping on his foot and everyone ran towards Dhruv and hugged him and ruffled his hair while Virat went towards Rohit and both of them hugged each other.

Avyuktha was stunned to see such an amazing catch and that's when she looked at Dhruv for the first time and she felt something happening in her stomach as she saw him. And then she saw the iconic Rohirat celebration and smiled wholeheartedly but her eyes again went towards Dhruv and she couldn't help but look at him and smile.

Now at the end of 50 overs the score that New Zealand team had set was 303/9 and the players went inside the dressing room and started preparing for the batting while Avyuktha was just talking to her best friend and brother regarding the match and discussing how the bowlers bowled good and now the match depends on the batters.

Now Rohit and Shubman entered the ground to open and the match re started and then Rohit and Shubman had a partnership of 48/0 runs in 5 overs and then Trent boult bowled a really good spell and took Shubman's wicket. And now Virat entered the ground and the crowd including Avyuktha were screaming their lungs out while cheering for him. Then both Rohit and Virat built a really good partnership till the 21st over and that's when Matt Henry came and took the wicket of Rohit and now India was 140/2. As Yashasvi wasn't playing that day so he was sitting in the dug out and building the confidence of Dhruv telling him that he can do it. And as the next wicket fell Dhruv entered the ground and gave a fist bump to Virat and took a deep breath and started batting. Both of them were playing amazingly till the 37th over because that's when Virat's wicket fell down. The whole crowd was silent while Avyuktha just kept her hand on her mouth and gasped and the score was 210/4. Before going towards the pavilion Virat whispered to Dhruv 'You can do it' and went inside the dressing room.

The batting of the Indian team continued but the fans were still not sure if they were going to win or not. 45th over started and Ishan's wicket fell the score was 257/5. Avyuktha started praying to God to make India win.

Dhruv built up the confidence and started hitting the shots fearlessly. The whole stadium started cheering for him and Avyuktha was jumping in happiness every time he hit a boundary. And now the 48th over started and the score was 294/5 and the strike was with Rinku and as he hit for a six the fielder took the catch and now everyone was scared but their last hope was Dhruv and they believed in him and Avyuktha also said to Samridhi "Dhruv is our last hope now" while Samridhi also nodded. Then after one run the strike came to Dhruv and he played a match winning knock and India won the first match of the series while everyone cheered for him.

Dhruv scored 78(89) balls with a strike rate of 134.6 and the players went towards the ground and hugged him tightly.

He smiled at everyone and here in the audience Avyuktha hugged her brother and best friend in happiness. And then her eyes went towards Dhruv and she just watched him smile and that's when her heart skipped a beat.
