### Chapter 3: Childish

Regulus sat in the kitchen, savoring the warmth of the fireplace. It was the coziest part of the house, and he found comfort in watching Kreacher prepare breakfast. The house-elf’s presence made the process of leaving for the station seem less daunting. Apparating with Kreacher was always more reassuring than traveling with others; it felt like a small piece of home.

“Goodbye, Master Regulus,” Kreacher said with his usual bow.

“Yes, goodbye, Kreacher,” Regulus replied, his tone soft with genuine warmth.

Arriving at the station, Regulus maneuvered through the bustling platform, heading towards the carriage reserved for Barty Crouch Jr. and Evan Rosier. Just as he was about to reach them, he collided with someone, stumbling backward.

“Watch where you’re going!” James Potter’s voice cut through the noise, laced with surprise and annoyance.

Regulus looked up, his heart racing as he met James’s bewildered gaze. His face flushed a deep crimson, and he stammered an apology. The awkwardness of the moment was compounded by the fact that James was the one person he had harbored feelings for since he was eleven. At fifteen, those feelings had only intensified, making his embarrassment all the more pronounced.

Nearby, Sirius Black burst into laughter, adding to Regulus’s mortification. Regulus stood there, feeling like he was back in his early teenage years, flustered and unable to think clearly.

As he finally made his way to the carriage with his best mates he sat in the spot he normally did listening to the aimless flirting and chatter
