I was in my 2nd Period Algebra class with Vincent and Kyrie during this time of the day. I despised this class because of the teacher, Mr. Yamamoto who was the worst and meanest teacher I ever had. He whistled a Japanese song from the 1980s as he handed us back our Algebra assignments from a couple of days ago. When I got my paper back, I took it with the hopes that I would at least a C on my test since I sucked at Algebra. My dad would always help me with my Algebra homework, and then John would help me with my Algebra homework while we were still friends and even when we were dating. After we broke up, my Algebra scores started going way down. I tried my best on my assignment yesterday on my own and as I said, I hoped that it would come back as at least a seventy.
I turned the paper around and saw something that I didn't expect. I got an F along with a message written in red that said:
"It's no surprise you Americans are stupid!"
I turned around in my seat and saw Vincent and Kyrie looking at the pieces of paper with confused looks on their face. They both looked at me and Vincent placed his paper up and showed me that he also got an F. There was a message also written in red that said, "You're telling me that you moved from the U.S. to the UK?!" "The hell?!" Vincent mouthed. Kyrie then showed me her piece of paper with a D- which also had a message in red that said: "At least you're Korean and you still count as Asian!" "Are you kidding me?!" she asked furiously in a loud whisper. "Monroe, Pierce, and Seong!" we heard a male voice call out. "Face me." We turned around in our seats and faced him. "Too bad my top students are on a field trip with Chief Matsuda and Commander Aizawa," Mr. Yamamoto complained. "Too bad Kaito and I don't see together eye-to-eye." He paused as he picked up another piece of paper. "Especially not with his girlfriend," he continued.
"Mr. Yamamoto?" Vincent asked. "What did I get wrong? I study Algebra every day for thirty minutes." "You completely misunderstood the assignment," Mr. Yamamoto answered. "Can I please take it home and correct it with my Grandpa?" Vincent asked. "He's very good at Algebra." "Yeah," Kyrie agreed. "Can I please take mine home and correct it too? I don't see why I get a D- and all of my friends who aren't Asian get Fs!" "This goes in your permanent record, Seong!" he snapped. Kyrie stopped protesting with Mr. Yamamoto after he snapped at her like that. "Anyway," Mr. Yamamoto continued. "Homework for you, Monroe, and Pierce!" I made a face like I was about to say, "What did I do wrong?" Almost everybody in the classroom except for Mr. Yamamoto and this one couple laughed. I turned around in my seat and looked at them. They looked at us with looks on their faces that told us that they felt bad for us. "Yeah, that's right!' Mr. Yamamoto called out to the rest of the class. "Let's have a laugh!" He laughed along with everyone in the classroom except for a few people along with these two couples that were looking at us.
He snickered as he handed us the assignment papers as homework. "Work on your homework while you're still in school, I'll find out thanks to my wife," he reminded us. "If she finds you working on your Algebra homework, you all will get an automatic F!" He paused right after he gave Vincent and Kyrie their assignments. "And don't even think about doing it outside of my sight or my wife's sight!" he continued. Mr. Yamamoto turned and walked back to his desk after he said that. "I'll make sure Geffrey James, his friends, Saiko Kikuchi, and her friends get an automatic A because they're my favorite students," Mr. Yamamoto said under his breath. "They'd better not be forced to bathe in an Onsen with their clothes on. What a nightmare."
