As Minju sat at the dining table, hair tied up in a messy bun, her heart racing with anticipation, she couldn't bring herself to open her timetable for the upcoming semester that came along with her grades from the previous one.
Just as she was about to click the button, the familiar sound of the door beeping filled the air, causing her to jump in surprise. Being at the blind spot of the main door, the moment she saw Yujin's head peek from the column blocking her view, Minju couldn't help but feel her heart skip a beat.
A smile made its way onto the older girl's lips. "What are you doing here?" She snickered and heard the door locking.
Yujin had yet to move in, still packing some things back at the dorm.
The younger girl stood by the doorway. "You forgot?" She came in on tippy toes and slid into the bathroom.
"Forgot what?"
Yujin dried her feet against the floor rag, going towards where Minju was. The older girl's eyes followed as Yujin stood behind her, feeling the latter's warm hand cupping her shoulder.
Yujin pressed a kiss onto her cheek and said, "Happy birthday."
Minju's heart blossomed with warmth at that gesture, turning her head to meet Yujin's gaze. "It's my birthday?"
The younger chuckled, sitting next to her. "What have you been busy with to forget your own birthday?" She pushed a strand of hair behind Minju's ear.
"The semester timetable is out." The brunette sighed deeply. "I heard it's difficult to get the elective you want."
"I'm sure it'll work out. Let's see it." Yujin urged her to open the timetable, providing moral support with a hand massaging the tension off the girl's shoulders.
Minju took in a deep breath. She kissed Yujin on her cheek. "Thank you for being here."
The younger girl snickered, rubbing Minju's shoulder while the girl clicked on her mouse. A bunch of words in organised boxes appeared on the screen, most of which Yujin didn't understand.
But with the way Minju's eyes crinkled into a smile, she knew Minju got what she wanted—a surgery elective.
Yujin had a glimpse of the girl's results and saw nothing but As, the lowest being an A minus. She knew Minju was smart but this smart?
Am I dating the Albert Einstein of medicine?
"Come on. I'm here to bring you out." Yujin urged the girl to stand.
"I actually got it." Minju was on the verge of shrieking.
"I knew you would."

Minju sat in the car without a clue about where they were going. Her mind was filled with the potential work in her area of interest. "Where are we going?"
Yujin glanced at her. "I'm kidnapping you," she teased. "Somewhere you'll like."
The anticipation definitely added to Minju's excitement.

Walking uphill wasn't what Minju had in mind. It had been a while since she had worked her legs this much on an inclined slope.
