"They say children know nothing about their parents."

Y/n blink at those words.

Hearing those words made him unconsciously remember about his dream.

Or rather his past memories.

Somehow, he coincidentally dreamt about his parents while waiting for Dokja to resurrect last night.

He thought the memories won't haunt him after leaving his family and his past world behind with good memories that he created by saying that he loves them.

But the past memories somehow haunts him again.

"Y/n, why can't you understand it already? We did it for your own good!" Y/n can see the face of his mother looking at him in disappointment.

"You have to understand our situation, Y/n. As the the older child, you should know that better."

"Can't you at least make things easier for us?"

Y/n was reluctant to understand his parents at first, thinking that it's unfair for him to be forced to understand his parents just because he's the oldest child.

But as he grew older, he slowly understand his family's situation. So he decided to just obey his parents in silence and didn't even bother to voice his thoughts.

Y/n don't know why but him slowly understand his parents feels like a big achievement for him.

Maybe if he understands his parents and always obey them, they will be happy and love him more.

But when he think again, it was hopeless.

He grew soft on his parents, who was raising him well and try to make himself understand his parents more.

He understands his parents' and family's condition, his parents' emotion even though when they didn't show it on their face.

But that's all?

Y/n is someone who can easily read people from him being a people pleaser and wore a fake mask all the time even though he's actually a quiet person.

Yet why can't he read what his parents' thinking?

He kept trying and trying to know and understand his parents more, to know what they're thinking to help them without they're asking and to be more reliable for them.

And all he got is nothing.

As if there's a barrier that blocked him to know and understand his parents more.

Y/n blankly stare at his hand as he feels Dokja's hold on his hand tighten.

'Adults sure have a lot of secrets.'

He then gently put his other hand on Dokja's hand, trying to comfort the older one that triggered a certain memories of his mother after talking to the older woman.

Seing Dokja no longer tense, Y/n softly smile while looking at their interlocking hands.

'But now I understand, considering me being an adult already.'

"We're here."

Y/n and Sooyoung are now currently can be seen standing next to each other as they're waiting for Dokja to finish his conversation with his mother on the other side of the door.

Y/n just blankly stare at the door while Sooyoung, who next to him blabbering nonsense to cure her boredom.

Y/n decided that he won't interfere with Dokja's and Sookyung's conversation, hoping that they will settle their misunderstandings.

He knew it won't go well just like in the original plot but seeing there's much butterfly effects happened because of his existence, he's hoping the mother and son conversation won't be same as the original plot.

Y/n then pull out his phone from his coat's pocket to read the scene of Dokja's and his mother's conversation.

Sooyoung noticed that he kept blankly stare at his phone but decided to ignore it and continue with her nonsense blabbering, knowing that the man next to her actually listen to her but didn't pay attention to it.

Meanwhile, Y/n's eyes narrowed as he read a certain sentence. He then sigh.

'I can't blame auntie for what happened. I can't blame her for thinking she understands his son too.'

'She love her son, but her way of showing it is wrong. Hyung is traumatized enough to remember what actually happened, so it's understandable if he didn't trust her anymore.'

'Though it can be fixed if she tell hyung the truth and the true reasons why she did all those things.' Y/n grunts.

'But both mother and son are hardheaded. The mother refused to tell her son the truth while the son refused to trust his mother anymore.'

'They say children know nothing about their parents while parents who said they know their children actually know nothing about their children.'

Y/n clicks his tongue as he heard the rattling noises through the door, a signal that the conversation didn't went well.

'Tch, I expected too much from it.'

'Is this why they said the greater the expectation, the greater the disappointment?'
