Danny
"Good morning my love." Nathan caresses my cheek as I yawn and cover my mouth.
"Morning." I mumble. As my eyes un-blur I realise Nathan's in his school uniform already.
"Shit, why are you in your uniform?"
"I'm so sorry. You weren't waking up when I tried to wake you and I hate being late so I just left you and got ready. I got all your stuff out so it's easier though. I'm sorry baby." He frowns.
"Hey it's fine! Thank you." I smile. I rub my eyes and hop out of bed, he sits down where I used to be and waits.
"Also if you were wondering the times 6:56. So we've got like 5-10 minutes."
"Alright." I smile and nod.
I pull my shirt off and lower my shorts. Behind me I can feel Nathan watching.
"Natey I know your watching. Can't resist this fat ass."
"Shut up." He groans.
I chuckle at him and put on my black trousers and button up shirt. He stands up and walks over to me.
"Are you going to lessons today?"
"Dunno." I scoff
"You should, you've missed a while." He pouts.
"Oh god- I've missed a week of lessons." Nathan panics.
"Babe you already do that."
"Yeah but like.. idk what I'm on about ur right."
"Kay I'm ready to go."
"No your not."
"What?"
"Go brush your manky teeth."
"Rude." I scoff and walk to his bathroom, brush my teeth and go back to the room.
"Good?"
"Mhm." He smiles.
I grab my phone, slide it into my pocket and suck my teeth, "ready to go?"
"Yep! I might grab a snack for the walk since I'm hungryyy."
"Alright! I'll also get something."
We walk downstairs and greet his mum. He grabs an apple and hands it to me before grabbing an orange for himself.
"Sorry we're out of bananas."
"Nah it's fine, apples are my number 2."
Nathan chuckles and slips his neat shoes on, the apple in his mouth so his hands are free. I quietly laugh to myself. He places his book bag round his neck and I put on some trainers and pick up my backpack.
"Ready?"
"Mhm." I nod.
"Alright, bye mum!" Nathan calls, opening the door.
"Bye boys!" She responds
"Bye Sandra!" I shout back, before closing the door behind us and leaving.
"Off we go!"
"Off we go." I sigh.
I love Nathan but hate school. He makes it easier. Schools so overwhelming. It's sort of nice now not having to worry about my mum.
"How are your cuts?" Nathan asks, breaking the silence.
"Uhh. Painful? Why?"
"Oh. I saw them earlier and was wondering."
"Brave of you to admit you were watching me change."
"Die in a hole."
"That's nice." I sarcastically smile and tilt my head.
When we arrive at school everyone seems to be watching me.
"Why am I being looked at so much." I whisper.
"I.. do not know. I imagine Josh told everyone about your suspension."
"Maybe. Oh also, speaking of punishments, I have a day of iso."
"Oh yeah." Nathan frowns.
When we walk inside Mrs Jackson stops us and pulls us into her office.
"Sit sit!"
We exchange a look and sit down.
"What's this for?" I ask.
"You guys were gone for a week! I wanna catch up."
I raise an eyebrow at her.
"And also you know.. I heard about what happened."
"How much did you hear?"
"You apparently ended up in hospital?"
"Oh. Uh. Yes. Sorry who told you this?"
"I heard it, I think a parent worked at the hospital and their kid was there and recognised one of you."
"Oh."
"That's all I know though."
"Cool." I look down and bite my cheek.
Nathan
I glance over at Danny who seems pretty shaken and I slip my hand over to his under the table. He holds it tightly and looks up, "so, I have isolation today right?"
"Yes, you do. It's in hive 2 if you wanna head up there when the bell goes. I don't mind if you leave for break and lunch to talk with Nathan. I'll write you a note." She smiles and pulls out a post-it note from a neat drawer and scribbles something down. Mrs Jackson hands it to Danny and he smiles.
"Right. Your good to go!"
He nods and stands up, releasing my hand. I get up and thank her before leaving.
The bell rings and I look at Danny and pout.
"See you at break?" I ask.
"See you at break." He smiles. People start to flood into the halls and he ruffles my hair before walking off to isolation. I blush lightly and head to my first lesson. I hate this lesson but I need to catch up. I'll try for Danny.
