Chapter 3: The Hotel

  (Charlie's P.O.V.)
After left Kaitlyn, I walked back over to my friends. "Charlie, she is hot. Are you going to ask her out?" Owen asked me. "I don't know man. Don't get me wrong that girl is amazing in so many ways. But we are both just in town for a short period of time. I don't think it would be fair to her." I told them. "Dude, at least hang out with her. Make her a new friend. Who knows with that chemistry you all had you all could end up getting married and having kids." Jeremy said. I rolled my eyes at him. Maybe I should at least hang out with her if she will let me. "Jeremey, shut up. You are just wanting a married couple for you and your wife can hang out with." I said teasing him. "Well, you are not completely wrong. But, that girl. She seems perfect for you." He responded.

     The guys went back to the original conversation as I get lost in a thought. The guys and I came here to celebrate the new season of the show. Most of us have never been to Nashville before but we have heard a lot of amazing stories. So we planned this trip. We have to beg Jeremy's wife to let him come but we convinced her she needed a break from him. We were hoping to come here and have fun, but I never thought I would find such a beautiful girl . Oh, and she can sing and sang one of the Julie and the Phantom songs. Kaitlyn, I can not get her out of my head. I was hooked on her before she was announced to be singing my song. When I sang with her, it's like everyone disappeared and it was just the two of us. It reminded me of when Luke sang that song with Julie, all the chemistry causing sparks everywhere. But, I don't want to scare her or hurt her. I'm only in town for a few days for the music festival then I'm back to Canada to start filming.

It was starting to get late and I was starting to get bored in the bar. "Hey guy, I'm going to head back to the hotel and get ready for bed." I told my friends. They all said their goodnights and I began to make my way through the crowd. Once I made it to the door I ran into Kaitlyn again. "Oh hello, stranger." I said to her. "Oh hey, Charlie. Sorry I was just leaving." She said to me. "So am I. You aren't driving are you?" I asked her. I began to worry. I know she has been drinking and I don't want her to get hurt. "Oh, lord no. I'm walking to my hotel. I would not dare driving after drinking." She said. Thank god she is not driving. "Would you be okay if I walk you with you. No offense, but I don't think it is safe for you to walk alone here at night." I said to her. "I would appreciate that. It gets scary here at night. Where are you staying." She asked. "At the Hampton near the stadium." "The really nice one?" "Yeah." "That's where I am staying." She told me.

We talked the whole way to the hotel. I learned so much about her. She is a small town girl that loves music, animals, classic vehicles. I also found out she will one hundred percent hunt someone down and kill them if they hurt someone or something she cared about. Which is a little scary but also badass. When we would start talking about something funny she would do the most adorable laugh it was hard not to laugh with her.Before we knew it we made it to the hotel.
   
   Once in the lobby we realized our rooms were in two very different spots. So, we parted ways. Once in my room I took a shower and sat on the bed on a moment trying to relax so I could sleep. Eventually I gave up and opted to watch a movie. As I was looking for a movie to watch I realized I need snacks. I grabbed my room key and wallet and headed to the lobby to get snacks.

(Kaitlyn's P.O.V.)

        I was happy that Charlie walked with me. I did not want to walk alone through Nashville at night. I had a lot of fun talking to him the whole walk. We talked about everything. He made me laugh so much. I really need this after how my day started. I was a little sad when we had to part our ways in the lobby. The whole walk to the room I thought about everything.

Once I made it to the room I tried to open the door but of course it was locked and at the moment I realized I did not have a key to get in. I knocked on the door multiple times but no response. I tried to call both my mom and aunt multiple times and not response there either. I gave up and made my way back to the lobby and for a couch to sit on.

I was watching videos on my phone for a while. But I was starting to get bored but there was nothing I could do, and I could not sleep here. Maybe I should get myself a room. Then out of no where I hear, "Kaitlyn?" I turned around and saw Charlie. He had changed his clothes. He is in plaid pajamas pants with a sleeveless band T-shirt. You could tell his took a shower. His hair was still wet from it.

  "What are you doing down here? I thought you went to your room." He asked me. "Well, I went to the room and realized I didn't have a key and neither my mom or aunt responded to the knocking or phone calls. I guess I could have gotten myself a room, but I was not thinking." I told him. "Sorry, we have no more available rooms." The receptionist interrupted from across the room.

  "Well, never mind. I guess I'm not sleeping tonight then." I said. "Well, I couldn't fall asleep. So, I'm about to watch a movie. I just came down here to get a drink and snacks. You can join me if you want." "I don't want to bother you. I'll be fine here." "I'm not leaving you down here alone all night. Come on. Get snacks with me then we can watch a movie." He said the me as he offered his hand out to help me up of the couch. "Okay, fine. But if I keep you up tell me, and I will leave." I told him. "Come on." He said while grabbing my hand and pulling me up.

When his hand touched mine, I could feel the heat rise to my cheeks. He held my hand the whole way to the vending machine.

"What snacks and drink do you want? It's on me." Charlie stated. I looked through the machines glass trying to decide what I want. "Give me a minute to think." I told him. He nodded and did the same. 

After a few minutes, he asked me "do you know what you want yet?" "Umm... I can not decide between goldfish and the skittles." I told him. He then stepped in-front of the vending machine and started to put money in. I stood in place still trying to decide what I want.

After a minute he turned around and had a hand full of snacks. Such as, goldfish, skittles, Hershey bars, popcorn, etc. "What do you want to drink?" He asked me. "I'm fine with a water or Mountain Dew." I said. He then turned to the drink vending machine. "Do you need help?" I asked him. He stopped for a moment. "Yeah. Do you want to hold the snacks?" He asked. I walked over to him and took all the snacks out of his arms.

Charlie started getting drinks. He ended up getting two Mountain Dew, four waters, and two Dr. Peppers. Good lord is he throwing a party in his room. I thought it was just the two of us.

We began to walk towards his room. We stayed quiet this time. I don't know if it is because we don't know what to say or we are both trying to be respectful because we know people are sleeping.

Once we made it to the room, Charlie readjusted the drinks so he could unlock the door. He opened the door, and I noticed his room was empty. "Come in and make yourself comfortable." He told me. I walked in and sat the snack on the desk near the door. Charlie put the drinks in the same area. "So, what would you like to watch?" He asked me as I walked over the the couch to sit. "I honestly don't care. I'm not picky." I told him. Charlie gave me a confused look. "Why are you sitting there? You can't see the tv there." He asked me. "Well, the only other place to sit is the bed and I don't want to sit on it with my dirty bar clothes." I told him.

He made an odd face as if he was thinking about something. "I have some extra shorts and a t-shirt you can use if you would like. And you can take a shower too." He told me. Did Charlie just offer me some of his clothes. "I can't do that. Thank you though." I told him.

Charlie didn't say anything and walked over to his suitcase. He pulled out some shorts and an old sleeveless band t-shirt then walked back over to me. "Here, go take a shower. You stink." He said in a teasing manner. "Fine. I would not like to stink you out of your room." I said with a small laugh. I took the clothes from him and headed to the bathroom to take a shower.
