Taiga Tsugeura
Calling you at home, bringing you to the gym, eating out together at his favourite restaurant after school, and hanging out quite often made him start to question if all of this was really okay to do as friends. In the past, he wasn't very lucky with women, in fact he has been rejected more times than he's been accepted.
He had never got his feelings returned by anyone.
When you finally popped up in his life, this time, he didn't try to fall for you and made a promise to himself not to ruin the friendship you two held.
You were outgoing, smart, funny, cute... is he going to far?
He had to kick himself on the head more than just a few times to get those feelings of uncertainty out before they turned into something he was sure of. He couldn't like you, but it was just so easy to like you. How could he not when you'd be the prime moment in his day?
It was when he agreed to go to the mall with you on a Friday after school instead of the normal restaurants he'd let you pick where you'd eat at. This time, you needed to go buy a pair of shoes after your last ones had ripped a hole on the bottom. Of course you bought the shoes but then your mind began to wander off to the different stores till you started browsing around the entire mall.
Doing so, when you came across a Photo Booth after getting a sweet drink that Tsugeura paid for, your eyes caught on the tall bulky machine and instantly wanted to take some pictures.
The first time stepping into the booth, he didn't know why out of all the times he's been with you, only then he started to grow nervous, why on Earth did it have to be now. Especially when he was in a tight room with you, just you and him, alone, where no one else could see you.
"H-how does this work?" He asked shyly looking at the screen that showed the video recording of you and him sitting on the small seat parallel to the camera. His face looked like it was about to melt off at any second while yours still held that bright, cheeky smile.
"The camera will flash 4 times, all we have to do is pose for each of them!" You said excitedly as you leaned in to start the counter, "Ready, and..."
The images of the numbers from 3 counting down to one appeared on the screen quicker than he had anticipated.
The first picture, you two smiled into the camera normally.
The second one, you held out a peace sign while sticking out your tongue at the side of your mouth. When he did a double take at your posture, he too raised a peace sign while smiling awkwardly.
The third picture, you leaned in even closer to him, not noticing how his eyes went wide for a split second as you raised your hand creating the half of a heart. He didn't understand what was happening and flickered his head back and forth to the screen and what you were doing.
"Huh?"
"Do the heart!" You shouted at him before the flash went off. Stumbling with his posture, he held out his hand a little too late where it looked the his side of the heart was a moon because of how his hand was shaped circular instead of it being narrowed.
You ended up bursting into laughter when the preview of the picture appeared making him laugh back at you while shouting a quick, 'I wasn't ready for that!'
You hadn't even noticed that the machine was now onto the next and final photo. You looked back at him at the last second, calming yourself down until you realized he was softly smiling at you, his eyebrows were all furrowed, his face seemed flattered and shy, making you wonder, had you done something to him?
The answer was yes, and the sounds of the camera flash was heard, coming to the end of your photo session.
There were two copies of the photos, each of you got to keep one. So when you were looking back at the picture when you two were back home, you noticed in the last picture he seemed to be staring at you in a way not just any friend would look.
Mitsuki Kiryu
The study dates at first were a total blow. It took him days to finally understand the basics and now that you were onto actual lessons, it was far more difficult than you'd expected.
It was starting to put more stress on your roster of things you had to worry about and when he learned how tight your schedule was, he offered you something you'd never hear.
"Instead of being at the library, I'm okay with having our study sessions at your house or mine," He suggested.
Blinking away, it took you a few days to consider the idea, especially with your parents being weary of new guests at the house. You considered it all before asking your Mother and she agreed. After all, Kiryu's family was the one paying for your tutor lessons.
That's when you realized, maybe it wasn't just tutor lessons.
Before even arriving at your house, the both of you had to exchange numbers instead of using your hotmails because the two of you needed a quicker way to contact each other. The first time he came over, your parents welcomed him inside and the two of you had to study at the dinner table.
Eventually, as time progressed, you started to grow comfortable with the light pink-haired boy and began to grow more playful with him while helping him study. It started off as bickering with each other about the right answer, to the way he complained you were too hard on him and then finally, the playful teasing.
He started to ask if he could come over more frequently to study. This is when your parents gave in and allowed him to go in your room with the exception of having your door slightly open. This is also when your parents found out he only came over so the two of you could just chat and play games on his phone.
He asked to come over during the weekend, and ended up staying later than usual. The both of you decided to watch a movie on your computer while laying next to each other on your bed, under your blankets, right next to each other. It was the first time you'd ever done something like this with him, this being the only reason because it was getting late and the both of you mutually decided you still wanted the other to be there, but lost your social battery for today.
It was quiet in your room, the lights were off and the only light source was the laptop itself reflecting on your faces. It was a rom-con movie, a cliché story between a guy and a girl but regardless it was still full of comedy and fluff. Each of you laughed at the funny scenes, but when it came to the romantic parts, something stuffy and thick grew in the air.
You didn't notice he ended up looking at you near the last few moments of the movie, you were too invested in the storyline that you completely got it wrong.
He wasn't looking at you near the end of the movie, he kept his eyes on you before it even started.
No one in the room could tell him it was wrongful of him to feel this way, a tutor? Seriously...?
Even so, the the scenario of you two watching that movie burned into his head that day.
