(Raph is 22, and Zane is 23. No one's POV)
It's been six years since what happened with Zane and Raph. That 'K' still carved into his skin, Zane still lay in that pool. That pool of ink and suffering. It would be a miracle if Zane awoken from his death, but he may not. Raph feels pain, the suffering. As he sits in his bed, questioning his entire existence.
He doesn't understand what happened. All he remembers is that Zane was into water, suffering. Tears spilled out of his eyes, falling onto his bedroom floor. His sobs filled the room, his hands quickly wiped his tears. He couldn't believe that the love of his life was dead. And that he killed him.
The tears stained the floor, reminding Raph that he did this to himself. He shouldn't have trusted Monoxide. Or anybody there. Except for him. But he's gone now. His brothers were at the door, asking if he was okay. Raph's ears rang, he didn't want to see anybody right now. Maybe never. Him being this depressed was not good.
Yea, he wasn't cutting himself. And he hasn't been trying to die. But he's lost sleep and tears. He tried to keep that same smile on his face when Zane was around, but he isn't any more. It's been hard for Raph. As for Zane, his body still lay in that pool. The pool of ink and blue. Casey also wasn't handling his brother's death so well.
He stayed at April's house all day, and all night. Casey couldn't bear the pain of meeting his brother and then dying six years ago. "Hey, uhm do you..." April sighs, fixing her medium-sized orange hair. "Go on a walk? Together? Or maybe I can ask Donnie.." She tried her best to comfort Casey, but it was hard.
He turned his head, looking at her honey combed eyes. "I'll go on a walk, by myself." Casey stood up from the bed, turning to the door. His hand wraps around it, pulling it open. "Call me if I don't get back before nine." He then leaves shutting the door behind himself. The dark night chill consumed his entire body.
Walking into the abandoned park, his mind started thinking about more memories. Memories of him. Zane. He sits down on a bench, feeling the chilly air mess with his hair. His phone rang, he took it out to see the contact name. Donnie. "Hello?" Casey asks, puffing a breath of air into the night.
"Hi! April said you were going on a walk and I was wondering if you wanted me to come!" His brows scrunch, he just wanted to be alone right now. "D, I really just-" "Oo! I see you over there!" Donnie then ran over to Casey, sitting next to him. "Donnie, I just wanna be alone right now.." Casey ran his hand through his hair, sighing.
Donnie placed his hand on Casey's shoulder, tucking a piece of hair behind Casey's ear. "I understand if you want to be alone right now, but you have to understand that you need to talk to us...Me." He smiled, removing his hand off of Casey's shoulder. "I know you guys are just trying to help, but my brother died. And I couldn't save him."
"You weren't there," Donnie tried to reassure Casey. "You couldn't save him, you weren't there to watch-" "But you were.." Casey whispers, wiping a tear from his face. "You could've saved him, D..." He sobs, holding his head in his hands. "...There wasn't anything I could do, amour." Donnie held Casey in his lap, letting his head rest on his chest and sob.
"Did he suffer?.." Casey asked, stiffing a sob. Donnie ran his fingers through Casey's hair, sighing. "He..Zane suffered some pain..He probably would have suffered more if he saw you there." Casey let another tear fall, he wiped it and sat up. "I don't know what to do...It's weird that he's gone.."
His hand placed itself on his. "I promise that Zane would have been here if it wasn't for him being a hybrid-" "What kind." Casey asked, looking at Donnies. Anger filling his eyes. "What?" "What kind of hybrid." Donnie sat up, scratching the back of his head. "Geez, it's been a minute. I don't know, a..Ink thing? All I remember is that Zane had black wings with white stripes leaking down them."
Casey thought for a moment, then his eyes widened. "Raven or Crow?" Casey questioned, he sat up tucking that same piece of hair behind his ear. "Hmm, Raven." "What was it like? Watching him?" He turned his head towards Donnie, Casey could see the tears burning in the back of his eyes.
"You don't have to tell me, I just wanted to know-" "It was like war. Zane was just trying to protect Raph by killing Karai. But Monoxide wouldn't let that happen. Zane became the beast inside of him, and Monoxide tied him down, cut off his wings, and cut up his face. Black blood leaked out of him, Raph was so hurt, but Leo wouldn't let him go to Zane. Monoxide grabbed Zane and they went back to the base,
but in the following of that there was a pool. They lifted him above it before Raph came up and shoved Zane into the water. He died in that pool, nobody could save him." Donnie ended, wiping away a tear. "I wish I could have saved him, but it was too late. I'm sorry, my love." Donnie sniffled, standing up he then walked away.
Casey let his lover walk away, letting the cold air hit him like a brick. Then, he stood walking the opposite way and more into the park. As he walked, he heard a noise. A stick breaking. Casey turned around, making that tucked piece of hair fall back into the open. His pupils were dilated, waiting for whatever to attack.
Swoosh. Whatever it was, it ran past him. "Hey!" Casey yelled, he started running after the thing in the shadows. Casey ran after the shadow, then it finally stopped. You could hear it's breathing, it stood in front of Casey. Was it waiting to attack? Or run? "Show yourself!" Casey demanded, making the alleyway cat's scatter.
He heard footsteps, he grabbed something out of his pocket. It was the pocket knife Zane made for Raph, but he gave it to Casey. "Don't come any closer!" He yelled, pointing the knife. Then a cough. "I said don-" Casey then dropped the knife, making it bounce off of the ground and lay there.
