Somewhere in the sword coast, a high concentration of magic started spiraling and drag along everything in its range.
An unlucky tiefling stumbled through the swirling vortex. A vortex that was making her sick and bringing her who knows where.
Her senses were assaulted by a kaleidoscope of colors and sensations she couldn't comprehend. Her heart hammered against her ribs, and panic tightened its grip around her throat. She had been enveloped by a magic she couldn't fathom, whisked away from the familiar lands of Faerun to a place she couldn't begin to understand.
As the chaotic swirl of magic began to dissipate, Isla found herself standing on unfamiliar ground. The air felt different, a lot busier than the nature she is so used to. She blinked, trying to make sense of her surroundings, but everything seemed alien and strange.
Her breath hitched as she took in the sight before her. Towering structures pierced the sky, gleaming with metallic surfaces that reflected the sunlight in dazzling arrays. She seemed to be on the rooftop of one of those metal buildings.
From here she could see crowds of humans and strange machinery. People bustled about, their clothing unlike anything she had ever seen, fashioned from materials foreign to her.
It was extremely overwhelming and she felt herself starting to panic as her breath became shallow and her tail curled around her leg.Isla's hand instinctively went to her side, where the comforting weight of her staff should have been.
But it was nowhere to be found. Panic surged anew as she realized she was defenseless in this strange realm.Desperation clawed at her chest as she spun around, searching for any semblance of familiarity.
But there was none.
Only the cacophony of this unfamiliar world assailed her senses, the noise, the crowd, the smell, everything was too much and only added to her confusion.Just as panic threatened to consume her entirely, a sudden disturbance in the air drew Isla's attention. She tensed, her senses sharpening as she scanned the area for any sign of danger. And then they came into view.
A group of individuals, unlike any Isla had ever seen, landed on the rooftop. They had a different aura than the other humans around them, they moved with a purposeful stride that spoke of strength and determination. And was that a robot ? A red and gold mecha ?
They were unlike any beings she had encountered in Faerun. From what she could tell they were only humans but that doesn't make them less dangerous she thought as she squinted her eyes and took a step back.
There were three humans and one robot. Four against one and she didn't have her staff to help her channel her magic. She doesnt even know if her magic could work in this realm isla realized. As the group approached, Isla's instincts screamed at her to flee. But where could she run in this unfamiliar land?
The leader of the group, a man with a stern expression and a big round shield, stepped forward. His gaze bore into Isla trying to gauge her, that made her skin prickle with unease."Who- or what are you, and what are you doing here?" he demanded.
Isla's mind raced as she struggled to find the words to explain herself. How could she convey the truth of her sudden arrival in this strange realm? Would they even believe her?
"I am a druid from Goldenfields," she began, her voice trembling slightly. "I... I do not know how I came to be here. I was just patrolling the woods, and then..." She trailed off, her words faltering as she struggled to make sense of her own jumbled thoughts.
The group exchanged wary glances, their expressions unreadable. Isla's mind felt like it was running thousands of thoughts a second. If she couldn't get them to trust her she might have to fight or try to make a run for it.
However she doubts two buff guys, a scary looking woman and a robot are an easy win.
"We detected a high magical signal where you just appeared," the fiery-haired woman spoke up, her voice sharp with suspicion. "You're not from around here, are you? Are you some kind of alien ?"
Isla shook her head, her mind racing as she tried to come up with an explanation that would satisfy them even though she didn't have any answers herself. But before she could speak, the leader of the group raised a hand, silencing the others.
"We cannot afford to take any chances," he said, his voice firm. "We have to bring her to Fury for further questioning."
Her anxiety and panic only grew at this idea, but she knew she had no choice but to comply. She followed the group as they led her away, leaving behind the only world she had ever known for a realm fraught with uncertainty and danger. She let them lock weird metallic cuffs around her wrists without a word.
They did try asking a few more questions but her mind was too hazy to understand or pay attention to her surroundings.
