[Jean is waiting outside the door with a bouquet of roses. Mikasa opens the door and takes them up, takes a big whiff, and hugs Jean. She invites him inside and he sits on the couch. His face is serious.]
Jean: Mikasa, there's something you should know.
Mikasa:[She leans in.] You can tell me anything Jean.
Jean:[ He puts his head in his hands and pauses.] Oh Mikasa I'm sorry. It's not going to work out.
Mikasa: What?[Her expression is pained.]
Jean: Being with you made me think about love. And who I really want to be with. I'm leaving you for Marco.
Mikasa:[She relaxes her face into one of sympathy.] Oh hon. Eren didn't tell you.
Jean: Tell me what?
Mikasa: Let's say that Marco has promised his heart to someone else.
Jean: Who?!
Mikasa:[ Pause ] Eren.
