I hate afternoons. I hate mornings as well. Although, I hate most of the time of the day.
The sun pokes my eyes, it's always too bright. People are chitchatting around, the noises of vehicles, the barking of dogs and Atharva Roy, my best friend.
All of them makes my day even worse. I wish I could just avoid it all and play games in my room all day and wander all night like Batman.
Yeah, like Batman.
.
"And you're sleeping in the class again, Malhotra." Joshi Ma'am uttered my name and I only understood when Atharva kicked my leg from under the desk.
"Was I?" I asked, running fingers through my messy hair because yes, I was sleeping. I was in a deep, most satisfying and long sleep.
"You surely were," Joshi Ma'am stood in front of Atharva and my desk while her eyes gawked me with disappointment. "I'm sure we have a witness, am I right Roy?"
"Me?" Atharva acted surprised as if he didn't know I was sleeping. He's the one who always cover me when I sleep, how could he not know. "I wouldn't know Ma'am, I was focused on the small intestine and pancreas."
"Don't be too smart, Roy," Joshi Ma'am uttered, now targeting both of us because of his sarcastic answer. "And you, Malhotra, do you come here to sleep?"
"I apologize," I hate afternoons. I hate mornings as well. Although, I hate most of the time of the day.
I said in a lower tone while whole class gawked at me with tease in their eyes.
Whole class except Evara Acharya, who minds her own business by sitting on the first desk and Ishani Raichand, who is Atharva and my childhood friend.
"Did you not sleep last night?" Joshi Ma'am asked, observing my face and she is correct. I did not sleep last night. I was busy studying the syllabus given by Maa.
"He was studying the whole night," Atharva answered behalf on me and Ishani's eyes widen with mockery in it. "Trust me, Ma'am, he's doing his best to top this exam." Fucker, Atharva. He doesn't have to tell everything to Ma'am.
"What did you study?" Joshi Ma'am was hooked on us and now started digging more. Thanks to Atharva, he always have something to say between my business.
"Mathematics." I answered before Atharva could answer behalf of me and ruin this more.
"Mathematics?" Joshi Ma'am asked and I nod. I am genius in Mathematics. I was born with this talent, thanks to Dad's genes, he also has the computer fixed in his head like me.
But I hate rest of the subjects, I don't think I'm made for history or literature or chemistry or biology. Though Maa wants me to be a neurologist like hers, I am fond of computers more.
"Integration." I spoke specific and her eyes squinted. She is a biology teacher, I'm sure she has no idea what to question me further because when I stared into her eyes confidently, she just nod.
