"Stay away from me." Those words echoed in my ears, turning my heart cold as if it's kept in the mortuary.
He got up from the chair and rushed out of the cafeteria door. He looked tensed and nervous and I needed to know why. I picked up his bag which he left before rushing out of the cafeteria and Manali rolled her eyes. Well, I'm not sorry for ruining their so called date.
I ran behind Advik as he rushed into the nearby library to avoid me, which he successfully failed because I'm not letting him leave until he give answers to my every question.
"Adi?" I called his name, following him in the book compartments. I needed a moment to process what he just told me to do so.
Stay away from him?
Me staying away from Advik?
Ishani Raichand staying away from Advik Malhotra?
How does that even work?!
"Is it too hard to understand, Isha?" Advik refused to look into my eyes and tried to leave again. His words were quite rude but his tone wasn't. He could never raise his voice at anyone.
His soft voice echoed in the dark compartment of the library, the dim sunlight passing through the nearby window and scents of old books covering the air.
"Are you telling me to stay away from you?" I needed to be sure. What I heard cannot be true. It's me and Advik, we've never been apart since the childhood. This must be some kind of misunderstanding-
"Yes, that it what I said." He affirmed, taking a step back when I moved closer to him. His messy hair covering his forehead and interrupting his lashes, his tie loosened and fit unbalanced on his collar.
"Why are you pushing me away?" I asked directly because none of this is make any sense. Two days ago, we three slept in the same bed and today he wants me to stay away from him. What happened all of the sudden?
"I can't tell you, Isha, I just..." He can't tell me?! When did we start keeping secrets from each other?
"You can't tell me? Seriously? It can't be worse than murder, is it?" I didn't back off and took a step closer to him. My hand reach to his tie and I pulled him closer to me when he tried to scoot back.
"I can get away with the murder but not you." Advik muttered, bending his head when his eyes met mine. Small, doe eyes, thick lashes, pouty lips. He's looks too innocent to act all tough.
"And why do you want to get away from me?" I jerked his hand off when he tried to remove my hand from his collar and he nod negatively. "Did I do something?"
"You didn't do anything." He nodded negatively, leaning down to match my height when I untie his tie to tie it properly.
"Then why the hell are you pushing me away?" I jerked his hand again when he tried to interrupt me with his tie. His hand automatically moved to my waist and rested gently.
