1 week later
JJ was at her desk, it was piled with files so tall you couldn't see her
"hello is anyone in there" JJ heard from the other side of the files, "mhm" JJ groaned and moved some files out of the way, "wanna go for lunch, I'm bored" Emily said with a big smile on her face, JJ rubbed her tired eyes and stood up, "only because it's you" JJ said while putting her coat on.
they decided to go to a caffe around the corner, when they got on JJ immediately sat down and buried her face in her hands, Emily ordered her lunch and looks over at JJ to ask what she wanted, JJ shook her head to say she didn't want anything.
Emily came and sat down, "your not hungry" Emily questioned while drinking her coffee, "nah" JJ said while giving a faint smile
about 10 minutes later Emily's food came and they walked back to the BAU, JJ walked over to her desk and sighed, Emily followed and watched as JJ sat down and immediately stared working again, "you need to give yourself a brake sometimes you know" Emily said while eating her sandwich and standing over JJ, JJ looked up at her confused, "i don't do that much" she replied, "JJ are you joking, your always here before everyone and you stay the latest, and take a look at your desk, you do to much" JJ didn't know what to say so she just shrugged and went back to working.
later that night
Emily was about to leave when she saw JJ sleeping on her desk, she looked so peaceful asleep, Emily thought to herself as she stood over the blonde haired woman, she slowly walked over and gave her a slight shake "JJ" she whispered while moving her hair out of her face but she didn't wake up, Emily didn't want to wake her so she just put a blanket over her and left.
2AM JJS POV
I woke up with a blanket around me, aw whoever did that's so cute, i thought as i got my things ready to leave
i walked out of the door with lots of files in one hand and my bag in the other, it wasn't until a few minutes later that i saw someone watching me from behind some trees
"uhm hello who's there" i yelled as i stepped back, a man walked over from the tree, i kept walking backwards until i hit the wall, "i'm sorry did i scare you" he said, "i was just looking for a lift home do you think you could help" he smiled
he looked friendly enough i though to myself as i looked around to see if there was anyone else about that could take him, but there was no one, i had to help, i would feel to guilty if i didn't
we both got into my car, "where to" i nervously asked as my hands began to sweat, "your house" he said and i looked over confused, i stopped the car, "excuse me" i said thinking i maybe misheard him, "i'm going to your house JJ" he said has he turned his head towards me and looked me up and down "uh who are you and how do you know my name", i asked, reaching for the car door, "come one you really don't remember, we dated back in high school, its me sam" i let out a sigh of relief, "oh my goodness you scared me to death" i giggled as i stared to drive home.
we both walked into my apartment and had a drink, we talked for hours until it started to get outside, sam got up and headed towards the door "here's my number" he handed JJ a card, "we should go out sometime" he said as he left the house.
1 month later
JJ and sam had been seeing each other for about a month now, JJ hasn't told anyone.
the team were going out for dinner and JJ decided this was the time for everyone to find out about about the two of them.
JJ was getting ready when sam walked in, "oh that's was your wearing" he said with a disappointed voice, JJ turned to look in the mirror, "i was gonna why what's wrong with it" she said looking for a rip or stain in the dress, "it's just it doesn't really flatter you" he said trying to avoid eye contact, JJ was a bit upset by this, it was her favourite dress but she changed anyways into a dress that sam had bought her and they headed to dinner.
as JJ everyones eyes darted to sam to find out about him, "hi everyone this is sam, we've actually been seeing each other for a few weeks now" JJ smiles, "uhm actually it's a month" sam said with a snappy tone and sat down, "oh of course sorry" JJ said while sitting down next to him, with Emily on the other side of her.
a few hours later the team had finished dinner and we're having a few drinks, JJ was laughing with Penelope when sam whispered something to her "stop laughing so loud it's embarrassing", JJ's mood immediately changed, she became more quiet and preserved, no one noticed it except from Emily who had also heard sam's upsetting comments to JJ throughout the dinner
"hey JJ, i'm gonna go to the bathroom wanna come" Emily said while standing up, JJ nodded and followed
they got to the bathroom and Emily smiled at JJ, "you okay" she said standing in front of her, "yeah of course why wouldn't i be" JJ replied smiling, Emily just gave her a look, JJ knew emily had overheard but didn't want to talk about it and Emily could tell, "just wondering" Emily gave JJ a side hug and they walked out of the bathroom back to the table.
when they got back outside and sit at the table
hours pass and everyone starts to head home, "it was nice to meet everyone" sam said as him and JJ started to walk to the door, JJ didn't say anything and just smiled
the car ride home was silent until JJ said something, "are you mad at me or something" she said looking down at her feet, "really am i mad, are you kidding JJ" he scoffed, "i don't know what i did" she replied with tears in her eyes, "you were being so annoying the whole night and you drank so much people probably thought you were an alcoholic, oh and don't get me started on how loud you were, the whole restaurant was staring at us and you ate way to much, your definitely gonna need to do some running to get rid of that" JJ gulped and looked at the floor, "i'm sorry" she whispered, trying not to cry, "oh so now your being quiet" he said as the pulled up to JJ's apartment, they both got out of the car and walked up the stairs, he shoved JJ and walked past her "could you walk any slower" he said as he got to the top of the stairs, she quickly tried to unlock the door but her hands were shaking, he grabbed the keys off of her and walked inside and went straight to bed.
JJ stayed up and went in the shower, while she was in the shower she cried, quiet enough so sam wouldn't hear and wake up, when she got out she braided her hair and got into bed, she sighed and closed her eyes and slowly fell asleep
