The alarm clock on Y/n's bedside table wailed at the top of its lungs showing no mercy to the sleeping girls. The red-haired girls groaned not wanting to wake up. Y/n switched off the alarm and sat up in bed. She looked out the window and admired the pleasant sunny day out. That's when she saw something very unusual, she rubbed her eyes and blinked, thinking her eyes were deceiving her but she could still see them. She woke up Lily, her twin sister, "What?"; Lily mumbled sleepily. "I see owls flying towards the house"; replied Y/n."You are barking," said Lily now wide awake
"No, I'm not, they are real. See?" said Y/n pointing to the window
Lily sat up and stared as two regal-looking owls landed in their room through the open window.
"Y/N, LILY wake up and come down for breakfast " called their mum
"COMING" the two girls chorused but when they turned around they saw that the owls had not gone.
The two girls raced down the stairs.
As they sat down to breakfast the bell rang and a strange lady with billowing .....robes???? came in.
"Hello Lily, Y/n"the lady greeted them
confused at how the strange lady with glasses knew their names they mumbled a greeting
"So, haven't you girls received your letters through the owls I sent you?"She asked
confused their mother started to say no but the girls had already dashed up the stairs and ripped open their letters before blink of an eye they were back down again.
"Uh...Hogwarts??" asked Lily, confused
"And you are?" asked Y/n curiously
"Oh, yes, yes. Where are my manners? I'm sorry, Minerva McGonagall, Deputy headmistress of Hogwarts the school of magic." She said
"Deputy headmistress?" asked Y/n
"Hogwarts"? asked Lily
"Why, yes and you have been chosen to come there"
"But, but Petunia never got a letter," said their mum
"Yes, the magic may be found in maybe only one or two of many siblings," said Professor Mcgonnagal
"Well then I shall send someone to escort you to Diagon Alley to collect your school uniform and books and I shall see you on September 1, Bye girls "
In the professor's place was now a tabby cat who sauntered out of the house and disappeared.
Lily and Y/n looked at each other, eyes bright with excitement.
This was going to be one hell of a ride
