Chapter 6 - Bridget

Going into work today was more nerve wracking than most things I have done in my life. I didn't know what to expect and I hate not knowing.

I got to work about 10 minutes early. I walked in and there he was right behind the counter back into the swing of things as if he never left. He looked up and caught my eyes. He smiled at me and he tilted his head to indicate me coming over.

"Hey mav did ya miss me?" He asked smugly.
"You were not gone that long" I retorted back as I was clocking in. I looked up to see why he had not continued our banter but he was gone he had begun making an order placed online that had come through. I sighed. I don't know why I was thinking anything about him. I barely knew him and he me. I probably just seemed like a little sister to him.

Except sometimes I catch him looking at me in a way you would never look at your sister.

My shift went by so fast we were swamped all day. Theo barely said much to me he seemed distracted by something and I just couldn't be bothered to worry myself with it.
I was on my way out walking to my car when suddenly I heard ...
"Mav wait!"
I turned around and a breathless Theo ran up to me.
I turned waiting for him to explain what he needed .
"I meant to ask you during our shift but we got swamped." He laughed and ran a hand through his hair and it was hard not to just stare at him because dammit he was so cute.
"What?" I finally got out.
"I have these tickets to this concert next week and the friend I was going with dropped last sec. I sorta saw you had a pin of the band on your tote." He pointed to my bag and I saw the pin he meant.

No way. No actually way. Fifth Jade was my absolute all time favorite band.

"You like fifth jade ?!" I blurted.
"Love em" he smirked.

"I was wondering if you-"

"Yes yes of course I'll go with you are you kidding!"

He started laughing and I was confused like I felt like I was missing the joke.

"Aw no Mav my bad I was getting to the part where I also can't go because I have a training seminar to be at. Future manager and whatnot . I was gonna ask if you wanted the tickets to go with a friend."

"Oh yeah duh right." I said my cheeks burning.

"Cool I'll give you them tomorrow at work."
"Yeah uh thanks" I needed to get out of here this was beyond embarrassing.

"Anything else?" I asked .
He shook his head and I turned to leave but suddenly he said "damn you are pretty adorable when you are embarrassed."

I turned to respond but he had already walked back inside.

What the actual hell had just happened.
