CHAPTER 11|| Looking for more friends

EDENS POV

The ride was dull, Quinton was higher than a kite and it was perfect because I didn't want to make any meaningful conversation with him because i myself, couldn't process what exactly was going on between the both of us. I just sat quietly and texted whomever texted me on the ride there, Aurora was really of good company even though she wasn't near me, but towards the end of the ride she came to me and sat on my laps and we chatted till we pulled up in our hotel, we got down the hotel and she dragged me immediately to the front desk.

"Better to stay here and let everyone get down the smell of sweat would be so bad right now." She said in between laughs and I laughed as well and I nodded.

I saw all the boys into another bus, they had to practice for the game, it was until later we'd get to see them. We all got into our various rooms mostly twin beds and I was lucky enough to switch with Stella and get to stay with Tabitha, Aurora was sharing a room with a 'Friend' she said, I didn't mind cause I loved Tabitha just as much.

We were all at the pool singing songs and laughing and eating, I stood at the corner though, already has a proper shower and did my skin care already, I wore a tiny little top and short and No, the guys weren't back yet and it was already past one, I needed my beauty sleep, I left and called it a night.

Morning came and the routine changed a bit, I looked out the windows and the boys bus was parked right down the road opened, they were back and i showered and went down for breakfast alone everybody was still passed out and I was an early riser when I wasn't home. I had waffles and milkshakes, By 8 Stella came to join me with two other girls on the team and told me about a cheer practice by 9am, still on sign of the boys downstairs, why I was looking I didn't know. Time ran by as we had breakfast and changed and we left, the whole routine during the trip remained the same, the boys would come late at night and we would leave by 9am for our practice both a different location in this town, so no opposite gender saw the other.

Two nights to the games I couldn't sleep, I sat by the window seel and watched all the taxis slowly make their last trip for the night and the road get less busier, a taxi slowed down by the hotel and Aaron get down, followed shortly by a girl who I recognized as Tabitha, I turned on the lamp by my bedside and saw that it was some random dark girl she gave the room to pretending to be her. I walked back to the window and saw the hugging and chatting and kissing they held hands and walked into the hotel room and rushed to end of the lobby on my floor and stood by the corner where the washrooms were. Peeping to see them pass to her room as we all shared the same floor, they came to stop at our door and they kissed. My eyes widened and my mouth was agape, I squeezed my hands over my mouth no wonder they always acted funny when they were around each other , it couldn't be, I never knew Tabitha and Aaron? Was that why they were always so weird when they were close to each other?

I watched them talk and slowly Aaron retired to his room shortly Tabitha entered ours. The stood by the concern trying to process what had happened when the door closed and footsteps drew closer to where I was.

"You can come out now Eden." Tabitha whispered and gave me a small smile.

"Tabitha...." I trailed. She slipped slowly on the ground and I followed as well.

"You and Aaron?" I finally managed to ask.

"Oh, it is quite a long story."

"But why didn't you tell me?"

"I was ashamed. Well you see, Aaron and I had a thing in sophomore year and it was nice, we dated for a long time and we did everything together, then I got pregnant." She paused and swallowed hard my eyes widened and different things flooded into my head.

"Pregnant?" I repeated.

"Yes. I got pregnant for another person and not Aaron, I didn't tell anyone because there's just as much as you can tell. I didn't even let my parents or the man who impregnated me know. I continued dating Aaron while growing a baby in me, I was in so much denial. I pretended like it wasn't there, because if you act like it's not there it's goes away right?" She laughed bitterly.

"4months and 4 days I couldn't hide it anymore. I didn't want anyone to get hurt. Then that was when I decided to tell my parents, the disappointment on their faces is still like a tattoo in my heart."

I placed my hands on her back and she looked up at me.

"I'm so sorry. I never knew. What happened to the baby and the baby's father?"

"Baby's father was into illegal stuffs. I had met him once when I was doing some shopping. He spoke to me and we exchanged contacts and started messing around i found out that he had a girlfriend and I had a boyfriend but it was already too late after coming clean to my parents I told them his name because that was all I knew. Oh how Seth almost ruined me."

As she mentioned that name, I realized that it was her, She was the one who Seth had gotten pregnant and she was the one who married him. I suddenly turned stiff and my breathing changed and she noticed, I looked at my trembling fingers and back at her.

"You and Seth have a very beautiful daughter." Was all I mumbled, before she could say anything I took elevator and just decided to go somewhere. The tears threatened to fall as we were all connected one way or the other.

Seth and Tabitha, I scoffed and bit my lips hard, the elevator stopped at the second floor and Behold, it was Quinton, after almost 3 days. This was the first I had seen him.
I blinked my tears off and he got in,he smiled as asked "what caused the tears in your eyes this time? The chemical from the pool again?"

I ignored him completely and he coughed looking away.

"Look, it's okay to cry." He said.

"I know." I replied walking out of the elevator when we reached the ground floor leaving him behind. He still caught up with me and walked with me

"Eden? What's wrong?" He took my hands making my pause in my tracks. I took my hands off his and looked at him dead in the eyes.

"You're not the only one who does not like being touched without permission. I hate it too. I also hate that you think that you can just come to me and claim you don't like me but yet you try to get into my pants, what's the point of it all? Are you trying to get me upset? All of a sudden you want to know what's up, but when we get back you don't talk to me and when you do, you do that when i'm all alone, this stupidity has to end. If you want to be my friend you have to earn it and to do so you have to come correct."

"Too bad Eden, I'm not looking for anymore friends. I'm just okay with the ones I have and you're right, it's draining that we keep doing this, so everything is just a waste of your time." He stepped back, I was so close to spitting on his face, I said nothing and walked away.
