14 | My Mistake

"Honey are you coming up?" A woman asked from upstairs.

"Just a second!" Just as Jaeseok was getting ready to go to bed, there was a knock at the front door.

"Who on earth would be here at this time in this weather?" he muttered to himself as he went to get the door only to find his little brother stood on the other side, drenched in rain water with tears streaming down his face.

"Hyung..." Jisung's voice broke as he walked into his brother's warm embrace.

"Is everything okay?" The woman asked when Jaeseok came back up.

"He's calmed down now, still don't know what happened," Jaeseok sighed as he sat on the bed beside her.

"Just forget about it, he's clearly on something," she said as she cuddled up against him.

"What's that meant to mean?" Jaeseok furrowed his eyebrows and pulled away.

"Babe, he obviously has to be a little bit crazy to be walking through a storm to come here in the middle of the night," she chuckled in disbelief.

"Hey. That's my baby brother you're talking about. If anyone here's crazy it's you for even saying something like that. He's clearly upset about something and I don't appreciate you making jokes about it," Jaeseok said firmly, feeling agitated about what she just said.

"I don't know what you're getting so worked up about? I'm the one that should be upset. I've come home from a long day at work and just wanted some intimacy with my boyfriend but I can't because his psycho brother just turns up in tears,"

Jaeseok just stared at her in surprise and said, "I'm taking you home in the morning."

"What?" She furrowed her eyebrows, "Are you breaking up with me?"

"Chaeyoung, I can't be with someone who talks about my family like that," Jaeseok shook his head, "You're free to stay the night until the storm dies down, but I'm taking you home in the morning."

Before she could respond, there was another knock at the front door.

"Don't you dare get that," she said as Jaeseok stood up, "Han Jaeseok, if you walk out of that door right now we are through, do you hear me?"

Jaeseok walked out without hesitation.

"Junwoo?"

Jisung was curled up in his bed when Jaeseok popped his head in through his bedroom door, "Hey buddy, you okay?"

Jisung hummed in response.

"There's someone here to see you, but I can send them away if you don't want to talk right now,"

"Who is it?" Jisung asked.

"Junwoo,"

When Jisung and Jaeseok made their way downstairs to the living room, they found Chaeyoung and Junwoo sat together on the couch talking.

"Baby," Junwoo said, standing up to embrace Jisung as soon as he saw him, "Are you okay?"

Chaeyoung pulled a face that Jaeseok noticed.

"I'm fine. What happened to you?" Jisung asked in concern, examining Junwoo's swollen face.

"I don't want to cause any trouble,"

"Then leave," said Jaeseok in a serious tone. It was probably the first time Jisung had ever seen him serious before. "If you don't want to cause any trouble you should go."
