Mature.

~Mention of neglect
~"I'm mature for my age"

How can one mature when they were born grown?
All my life I've been told I'm "Mature for my age."
But, I don't feel it's as endearing as they think.
It's not a compliment.
I'm still mourning the childhood I never truly had.
I was too aware.
Aware of this world,
Aware of my family's problems,
Aware of the neglect i endured.
I'm too mature for my age, but what did they expect?
I was born grown...
I didn't have a choice.
