(Y/N) awoke to the sound of a steady beeping beside him. His eyes fluttered open, taking a moment to adjust to the bright lighting of the room as he sat up. He only got a moment to himself to process what was going on before he was tackled back onto the bed by his mother, (M/N), who hugged him in a panic.
(M/N): OH, MY SWEET BOY! YOU'RE OKAY!
Officer: Take it easy, ma'am! We don't want to hurt him more!
(Y/N) noticed that alongside his mother was a police officer standing in his peripheral view. This made him worry if he had done something wrong, but as the events of the previous night came back to him, he understood what he was doing here. Although the officer was standing just within his line of sight, (Y/N) could see him as clearly as he could his mother.
(M/N): Oh, I'm so glad you're okay! I was horrified when I found you in your room like that!
(Y/N): It's okay, Mom. I'm feeling okay.
After the two hugged for a moment, (M/N) moved away and allowed the officer to step forward.
Officer: Good morning. You gave us quite a fright, Mr. (L/N). If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to ask you a few questions about last night.
(Y/N): Y-yeah, I don't mind. Go ahead.
Officer: Thank you. First, were you able to see your attacker at all? Do you remember anything about him?
(Y/N): I... I can't remember seeing his face... or anything for that matter. I just suddenly felt a sharp pain in my neck.
Officer: I see. Do you know how he could have gotten into the house? You mother informed me that the doors and windows were all locked.
(Y/N) thought back to the bright light that filled the room when the mysterious man attacked. Perhaps it was some kind of Stand ability. He considered bringing it up to the police officer, but he shot the idea down out of fear of sounding delusional.
(Y/N): No. I don't know how he got in. All I know is that he wasn't in the house when I got there.
Officer: Alright... This is going to be more difficult that I thought. Thank you for your time, Mr. (L/N). Ma'am.
The officer bowed to the two before swiftly making his departure, leaving mother and son alone together.
(M/N): Are you sure you didn't see anything?
(Y/N): I know you want to catch this guy, Mom. So do I. But there's nothing we can do about it now but hope he doesn't come back.
(M/N): I just want to make sure you're okay. You just survived being stabbed in the throat, for God's sakes! I'm surprised you're so calm.
(Y/N): I'm okay now. That's all that matters to me.
(M/N) hugged her son again, the two taking the moment to simply be with each other, but they broke apart as the doctors arrived. (M/N) got up and began to walk toward the door.
(M/N): I'll be in the lobby waiting for when they discharge you.
(Y/N): Thanks, Mom.
(M/N) smiled warmly at her son before exiting the room and allowing the doctors to do their work. They checked (Y/N) for any signs of illness or injury, but found nothing. He was cleared to leave shortly after. As he got up and walked out, he heard a small voice in his ear.
Doctor: It's completely unbelievable. I don't even know how it happened. It's like his wound just disappeared overnight!
(Y/N) wondered why a doctor would be speaking about a patient so loudly and openly. Looking around, he tried to find whoever was talking, but no one was.
