Climbing down the beanstalk was a lot harder than Angie had originally thought. Going up had definitely been difficult, as she didn't know how far up she had to go or what the composition of the beanstalk had been. But going down required looking down the whole time. At least when she was climbing up, she didn't have to constantly see how high up she was.
Angie gripped tightly to a vine as she lowered herself down a few more feet. She could see the ground from her spot. The four little dots that were her friends were growing bigger and more clear. Angie continued to climb down. She wished that she was wearing better shoes for this. She also wished that it wasn't so chilly on the beanstalk. She was much more sensitive to cold. Since she had spent most of her life in the sweltering heat of the down under, she wasn't used to the cold.
Another shiver traveled up her spine as she kept going. She was trying to go fast. She had no idea how much time had passed. Before she knew it, Hook could be free and she would lose her head start. She felt bad for leaving him up there, which was a rare occurrence for her. But, she couldn't have him interfering with their plans to return home. She was certain that Hook wasn't done being Cora's little pet, and would most likely run back to her once the giant let him out. She had a sneaking suspicion that Cora had put Hook up to the flirting in order to weaken Angie, who currently was the strongest of her enemies. Clearly, she didn't know who Angie really was. She wasn't that scared little girl that showed up at her house all those years ago.
