"But they never did"

As Zee said those words, for some reason Chawarin feels like his heart was crushed to thousands of pieces. But still, he managed to control his facial expression.
"It was as fast as a night changed...as if that time, my life didn't move and I was completely stuck in a limbo at 7 years old. That 2 years fly like it was nothing. I really didn't know what happened to them...or the house....or whatever reason why they suddenly left me like this... I tried to ask my grandmother but she didn't give me the answer that I wanted to hear"
Zee said with a frown on his face before he continued...
"I don't really remember what happened to 7 until 9 years old me... I don't know why... I just... can't recall it. We are living in a secluded place as my grandma's house was far separated from the village. I don't really talk to anyone as I don't have any friends as well. I was not really connected to the outside world since there're no communication devices that are working in the house...no TV, no cellphone except for the antics one. I have no idea just what the heck is happening out there"
There was a long pause there, until Chawarin tapped Zee's arm then Zee continued to talk...it was as if Zee tried to remember what happened after that... Guess he started to for real forgetting his past life.
"Sorry...where am I again? Ouh yeah...after that, one day someone visited my Grandma's house. At first I didn't know just who the heck is the man that visited my grandma everytime but then, there's where I learned that it was Lia's father, Uncle Chan. At the time I was like 10, Uncle Chan offered me to be brought to Chiang Mai and live with him and his family there. It was my grandma that asked me to live with them actually, cuz she thinks that it will be better for my future"
'So...did you go with Uncle Chan?'
Chawarin wrote that and gave it to Zee.
"Well...at first I didn't want to go...cuz I was still thinking about my parents, I still waiting for them..like what if they come back and searching for me and I was not there...i was still in hope that they will soon come back to me...but in the end I agreed to follow Uncle Chan. But before I completely leave my home town Chiang Rai...I ask a last favor...to see my house again...to see if they are still there all along..."
Zee pressed his lips together as his eyebrows tilted down, remembering what happened at the time...
"And just like what I wanted... they brought me there"
"....."
"It was...burned down..."
Zee said as he fidgeted with his fingers. He still remembers vividly how he fell to the ground on his knee as his tears streamed down his face.
He doesn't even let out any mourn as he was in a deep struck, knowing the truth. And he can't do anything about that...he was too late...
"Everything....was left with ashes..."
There was a horror in Zee's eyes...as if those memories just flashed back in his eyes.
"My one and only home....was burned down to the ground"
Zee's lips trembled as those words slipped out from his mouth. It was until he felt something...and when Zee looked down at his hand. There are Chawarin fair white hands placed right on top of Zee's hands.
And for some reason...that gesture just put Zee's heart at ease. Chawarin smiles that tells Zee it was all fine now... makes Zee continue his story.
As Zee holds tight Chawarin's hand in his. He continued,
