CHAPTER 49 - In The Name Of Love

The sound of waves crashing on a rock down the cliff was clear on Zee's ear. It was night and the breeze felt so unreal. He opens his eyes just to see the darkness of the night, but the moon was bright tonight. As if it was a blue lantern that was hanging low on the sky, and everything beneath it was clear.

He throws his eyes around, and this place is sure familiar. And as the winds slowly comb his hair behind, his eyes catch a sight of a silhouette not too far away from him. A little boy, standing near the edge of the cliff.

"Universe, please tell me you are there..."

The little boy voiced out, while Zee just stood there looking at the boy from behind. And slowly his eyes catch something that is so familiar. A sight that he never expected he will encounter again.

On the little boy's hand, there's a familiar necklace. With a blue pearl pendant on it, the necklace dangling out of the boy's hands before he threw it to the sea.

"Make me the biggest star... So that I can make it far away from here... Far away from this place... So I can believe that happiness still exists... Since I already lost my happiness once... Make me believe that there is still a reason for me to keep going"

The second time when the little boy spoke again, he turned around to face Zee and at exactly that moment, Zee instantly recognised this face...

That was him.

Just like a recording tape, all the memories were rewinding back inside his head, he recalled this moment and everything just got even clearer now. This is the moment.... That Chawarin was talking about... This is where Chawarin first saw him. This is the moment where he spoke to the universe, pleading so that his wishes became true.

And staring at his own past self like this, Zee felt this sudden overwhelming feeling in his chest. So this is him before... and this is what he was wishing for before. If this is true, if this event is truly happening back then, then perhaps... This is the wish that Chawarin was talking about, this is the wishes that he needs to fulfill.

As Zee felt like his question was finally answered, he couldn't help his tears from falling out of his eyes. He didn't feel anything like crying at the time, but his tears just kept on falling just like that.

And as both Zee from 16 years ago and Zee at the present time looking at each other like this, slowly the 10 year old Zee walked closer to Zee that was now all grown up to 26.

"Is that what I've been wishing for back then?"

His tears were all flowing from his eyes, the moment Zee spoke that to his little self.

"That's true. And I'm glad that we've made it this far... I'm proud of you"

Little Zee said again as his hands were now holding on to Zee in the present time.

"And now I need you to wake up"

"Haaahhh!"

Zee shoots his eyes wide open. Gasping hard for air from the surreal dream. His cold sweats were all over his forehead as the golden sunlight slipped through the bedroom curtains. He believes this is evening.

'I need to ask Nhu about this, maybe this is the answer to fix everything. I'm sure he misinterpreted the wishes'

Zee thought that in his head before he turned to his side, just to find a cold bed beside him. And it was as if his heart stopped beating for a second as he didn't find Chawarin there.
