He came back after a while and seemed to be even more frustrated than before. I opened my eyes after I heard his footsteps approaching but remained to sit on a chair. My body could barely move, and I felt like shit. Countless nights without normal food and sleep made my body respond in a negative way. Not to mention that he hit my head three times and also raped me. Well, maybe raped is not the right word because I did not reject him, but still, it was not the right time, and I had no choice. I couldn't change anything even if I wanted to. Anyway, now my body was extremely exhausted, and I couldn't take any further abuse. If this is supposed to be a better place than a prison camp, then I pray to never set foot in such a place.
"Maya." his husky voice shattered the silence, sending a shiver down my spine. I gazed up at him, but my vision became blurry, and I closed my eyes. He went somewhere and then came back to me after a few minutes.
"Drink it."My eyes were so heavy as I tried to open them, but somehow, I succeeded. His blue eyes were staring at me as he held a glas with liquid in front of me.
"Poison?"
My question elicited a slight upward curve of his lips, followed by a soft laugh. His reaction left me unsettled. What kind of sociopath is he?
"No, it's medicine. You have two days to get back on your feet." His face became serious again, and he pressed the glass into my chest until I took it. "Drink."
I downed the entire glass and reclined in the chair once more. I hoped it was the instant healing elixir, capable of remedying minor injuries within hours. Perhaps then, I'd start to feel better, but now I felt like a zombie.
"You can't sleep on the chair. Go to the bed." He commanded me again and made my anger rise.
"Fuck off." I wept and sighed. "I can't walk." He can go to hell. He can't just dictate my every move.I felt his grip tighten around me as he lifted me effortlessly into his arms. His warmth enveloped me, and his body seemed to be so strong, yet it only served to magnify my sense of helplessness. My gaze drifted as he carried me back to the bedroom, gently lowering my body onto the bed.
"I'm doing this only because I had to punch you for nothing earlier." He explained shortly and then went out, shutting the doors behind him. I don't give a shit about his explanation. I want to rest.
I woke up, and as usual, I couldn't understand for how long I was out, but I did feel much better. I sat on the bed and gazed around me. For the first time in a while, my eyes witnessed sunshine shining through the closed curtains. I stood up and opened them a bit so I could sense warmth coming from the sunbeams. Finally, I feel like a human again and not like a walking dead. My body turned around after hearing how the doors opened. Killian stood there holding some clothing in one hand and a plate with food in another.
"I almost thought that you died." He wept and placed the plate on a table and threw the clothes to the bed.
"Thank you for your concern. " I mumbled sarcastically and turned my gaze away.
"Get ready. We have work to do."
After he left, I took the plate and finally enjoyed a proper meal.
Toast, eggs, bacon, and assorted veggies melded harmoniously, satisfying my palate.
I used to eat such a mean for breakfast, so he did surprise me with this one, but it also left me wondering how much does he knows about me. As I inspected the clothes he left, I noticed they perfectly matched my usual attire: black jeans, a nude top, and even a jacket. Venturing into the living room, I found Killian seated on the sofa, watching something on the projector. Our eyes briefly met before he returned his focus to the screen. I went to the bathroom and took a shower, and this time, I enjoyed it very much. After getting ready, I felt completely different than yesterday, and it made me feel like I still have a chance of survival in this whole madness.
