The sun was shining brightly over Hogwarts as Coin, Severus, James, and Rachel made their way to a secluded spot by the Black Lake for a study session. Coin had suggested the location, believing that the peaceful surroundings would help them focus on their studies and provide an opportunity for James and Severus to bond for her sake.As they settled down on the grass, Coin spread out her books and notes, ready to dive into their study session. Rachel, always the organized one, had brought along some snacks and drinks to keep them refreshed.
"Alright, let's get started," Coin said, looking at her friends with a determined expression. "We have a lot to cover."
Severus nodded, eager to prove himself and show his support for Coin. "Agreed. What's our first subject?"
James, who had been a bit reluctant about the study session initially, decided to take the initiative and suggested, "How about we start with Potions? Severus and I can work together on some of the more challenging problems while you and Rachel focus on the theory."
Severus looked surprised but pleased by James's suggestion. "That sounds like a good plan."
As they began to work on their assignments, James and Severus found themselves collaborating more and more.
"Severus, do you remember the correct sequence for brewing the Draught of Living Death?" James asked, flipping through his textbook.
"Yes, it's a complex process, but I think I can walk you through it," Severus replied, opening his own textbook to the relevant page. "First, you need to add the powdered moonstone..."
As they discussed the intricacies of the potion-making process, James and Severus discovered that they had more in common than they had realized.
"You know, Severus, you're actually pretty good at explaining this stuff," James admitted, impressed by Severus's knowledge and patience.
Severus smiled, feeling a sense of validation. "Thanks, James. You're not so bad yourself."
Coin and Rachel, meanwhile, worked diligently on the theoretical aspects of their assignments.
"Rachel, do you understand the properties of moonstone in potion-making?" Coin asked, curious to hear Rachel's insights.
"Yes, it's known for its calming and healing properties," Rachel replied, sharing her knowledge. "It's often used in potions to enhance a potion's effects or to balance out other ingredients."
As the afternoon wore on, the group made steady progress on their assignments, with James and Severus continuing to bond and collaborate effectively.
"Severus, do you think adding powdered unicorn horn would improve the potion's potency?" James asked, seeking Severus's opinion.
"It could work, but you have to be careful with the dosage," Severus cautioned. "Too much could have the opposite effect."
James nodded, appreciating Severus's expertise. "Good point. Let's proceed with caution."
As the sun began to set, signaling the end of their study session, Coin felt a sense of satisfaction and gratitude towards her friends.
"Thanks, everyone," Coin said, packing up her books and notes. "I really appreciate your help today."
James and Severus nodded, exchanging a brief but genuine smile. "Anytime, Coin," James replied.
Severus added, "Yes, thank you for including me. It was a productive session."
As they made their way back to the castle, the group felt a renewed sense of friendship. The study session had not only helped them academically but also strengthened their bonds and paved the way for better understanding and cooperation in the future.
