Y/N walked into the house and set down his bag. He saw his sister sitting on the floor with her back against the coffee table. She was coloring a drawing she was working on. Y/N walked over and sat down on the couch behind her.

Y/N: Hey, Abs, what are you working on?

She didn't respond, trying to ignore him.

Y/N: Alright. I guess you don't want this, then.

He took the security badge off his vest and handed it to her. Abby took the pin and examined it, noting the bear on the front of the badge.

Y/N: It's cool, huh?

She placed the badge back down on the table and continued working on her art project. Y/N sighed and shook his head. He walked over to a small dresser and placed the metal badge inside one of the drawers. He put his head down and looked over at his sister.

Y/N: I'm trying my best, Abby, okay?

She turned and looked at him skeptically. Y/N sighed and walked down the hall to his room. Abby decided to get up and have another look at the badge. She walked over to the drawer and tried to open it. It was fidgety and tough to pull out.

Y/N heard a loud bang and smashing coming from the living room. He ran back down the hall to see what happened.

Y/N: You okay?

He saw Abby sitting down on the floor. In her hands were the missed child payment papers. Next to it was a photo of a younger Y/N with their parents. He looked happy, a far cry from his present self.

Abby: I made a mess. I'm sorry.

Y/N looked at her. She looked like she was on the verge of tears. Abby looked at the papers and started to feel guilty. She began to blame herself for their situation. Y/N walked over and took the papers from her.

Y/N: It's alright. They're just papers.

She looked at the old photo and then back up at her brother.

Abby: Are you going to give me away?

Y/N: What?

Abby: It's my fault we're poor. Maybe it'd be better if you didn't have to deal with me.

Y/N's eyes softened and he crouched down to her level.

Y/N: Abby, no. Look, we may be struggling right now, but that is not your fault. The last thing I'm going to do is give you away.

She looked at him, a bit calmed down. But a part of her was still sad. The two of them then heard a knock at the door. Y/N answered it and was surprised by who he saw.

Y/N: Hey, Vanessa.

Vanessa: Hey, Y/N.

Abby walked to the door and stood beside her brother, noting the policewoman.

Vanessa: And... hello.

Y/N: Vanessa, this is Abby. Abby, Vanessa.

Vanessa: Hi, Abby. Y/N didn't tell me he had a daughter.

Abby: Gross.

Y/N: No, uh, Abby's my sister.

Vanessa: Ah. Well, he didn't tell me he had a sister either.

Abby: Are you here to arrest Y/N?

She spoke with a mischievous grin. Y/N rolled his eyes and shooed her away.
