The dream sand eventually passed after doing it's dreamy job and we had also calmed from our playful moods. On nights like this where we have run out of life to sprout or snow  to drop we spend them wandering together in the nighttime world. It's often quite peaceful and pretty with all the glimmering stars and glowing streetlights, especially when it rains. I like making it rain, but I haven't completely mastered the art of it yet. Good thing it also happens without my influence majority of the time, sometimes a little help is needed and that's my duty.

On nights like these occasionally a few dogs will bark and growl together or a cat fight may break out but tonight feels different. I feel as though there is someone out here with us, watching us. Am I overthinking this? Or is this possible the same gaze from earlier when I was alone? Although, this feels different..

A swift gust of movement rushes passed the backs of our legs, spooking us. I don't like this, I wasn't going to say anything because I had to of been overthinking but now...

"Did I imagine that?" A gust of air catches in my throat.

"No, no I saw it too." Jacks eyes are clouded over with a little curiosity, a touch of fear and a lot of anticipation as his voice remains low. "Just stay close Y/n." His heads immediately in the direction he thinks the thing headed in. I chase after him and leap towards a tree, enchanting it to stretch out one of its branches to safely land on. I wonder if anyone has noticed that their tree or plant changed positions over night? I mean it's not a drastic change, just a branch. I don't do it too often. Jack lands just above me and hangs off the tall reaching trunk, observing the surroundings and what could possibly have swayed so close to us.

We dash off again, hopping over roof tops, trees and setting off car alarms and swinging on street lamps before reaching a truck parked opposite a dark alleyway in the night. Maybe it was just a cat dashing around in the night, I mean what else could possible hide in a space like this? It dashes passed us again at lightning speed, knocking things over and creating clashing glass sounds all a while there's a few dogs barking near by, the odds are in that idea right?

Jack and I hop down, standing back to back as we circle the dark space carefully, anticipating for anything to jump out at us or give us a true fright.

"Hello, mate."

With a panicked and spooked gasp I whip around to face the familiar voice, Jack too frantically turning to it, on guard. Why who else would it be than the fluffy and sometimes grumpy Easter Bunny himself.

"Been a long time." The large rabbit spins his boomerang in the palm of his hand, his silhouette outlined with shadows as he leans against the tall brick wall. "Blizzard of '68, I believe, Frost. Easter Sunday, wasn't it?" Bunnymund steps into the street's yellow light, accusingly pointing his boomerang at the staff holding boy.

"Bunny!" Jack completely relaxes, amused with who this mystery figure turned out to be while slinging his body over his staff innocently. "You're not still mad about that - are ya?"

"Uh- Jack!" I try my best to stifle my laughs at Jack's playful banter with the stern appearing rabbit. He's always poking the bear, and Bunny over the years has always let it get just under his skin.

(Y/n is like that 'ohh' cat from Puss in boots.)

"Y/n, how have you been little mate?" Bunny turns his attention to me after a little grumble under his breath about Jack. Bunny and I have always gotten along, I mean there's times where we don't cross paths for years but we both can share a friendly nod when we do so. Our work compliments the other. I make way for the start of spring and he declares it to the world for me. We work together in happy harmony while he really knocks heads with Jack. "Keeping an eye on this one?" He questions referring to the trouble maker who's wearing a cocky smile.
