"Y/n! Are you okay?" Jack questions as his hands squeeze my shoulder. I appreciate the care and all but, I really don't want to have a chat right now. Whatever just went down back up there... I need a moment to think about it.

"I'm fine, just got a bit uncomfortable and he knew it..." I brush off Jack's concerns while dusting myself off. "Which made it worse."

"Hmm." Jack and I both know he doesn't believe me for a second, why should he? He knows I'm bluffing to remain tough and reserved, especially around the guardians. "Do you know why he was so dictated on you?" Jack's voice hushes soften than before, mumbling as his eyes bore into mine looking for answers.

'No, please don't ask me that!' "No, I don't." I do my best to act all oblivious before looking over his shoulder to see a very down fairy. "I think Tooth needs a little support right now." Still clutching my shoulders firmly but comfortably, Jack peeks over his shoulder to catch what I'm implying.

"This isn't the end of this conversation Y/n." Jack states firmly before letting me go. No, deep down I know I wasn't expecting it to be.

Mr. Frosty and I walk closer to the guardians who's minds are ticking over, soaking in the fear of this dangerous threat.

"Okay, alright, I admit it. You were right about Pitch." Bunny's voice grows louder as we step closer, him accepting the reality.

"He will pay-" North replies as I take one look at the tall standing guardians and decide that they don't need my attention right now. Tooth does.

"Tooth, I'm sorry about your fairies." Tooth looks up from her sunken position to me as I sink down next to her my hand reaching out to clasp her feathered shoulder.

"You should've seen them. They put up such a fight." Tooth reminisces proudly, clutching on of the little intricate trinkets that hold each child's teeth. Baby Tooth twitters up and flutters beside my shoulder.

"But... why would he- Pitch take the teeth?" My eyebrows knit together trying to piece this odd robbery together.

"It's not the teeth he wanted" Tooth motions with the box in her hand, eyes full of sorrow "it's the memories inside them."

"What do you mean?" Jack soft voice appears, lost as to what she means.

"That's why we collect the teeth." Tooth speaks seriously explain her job and its importance. It's odd how such special and uniquely valued jobs are given to those like Tooth and Sandy, North and Bunny. But yet even fellow sprits and immortals like Jack and I still just don't fully know what it is that they do and why the hold such significance to the children of the world. "They hold the most important memories of childhood." She states before fluttering off towards a mural. Jack and I stand to follow Tooth as she move toward this colourful mural on a wall that's surrounded with a light lagoon. "My fairies and I watch over them." Tooth flutters above while Jack and I stand on the ice that he's formed with each step over the lagoon. The mural is very beautiful and represents Tooth's nature and her role. Children handing her and her little helpers their teeth, trusting that she will protect them and nurture the connections that are tied to them that makes them children. "And when someone needs to remember what's important, we help them. We had everyone's here. Yours too."

"Wha- Our memories?" Jack questions looking between myself and Tooth as our mouths slightly gape open with bewilderment at this information.

"From when you were young. Before you became Mother Nature and Jack Frost." Tooth states like it's a matter of fact.

"But, I- I wasn't anyone before I was Jack Frost." Jack frowns deeply and I too feel my face contort to a firm frown.

"All that I remember is waking up alone. There's never been anything before that..." I think back to my first conscious memory. How could there of been anything before this, what Jack and I live through now. It's just always been like this and it's all it's ever been. No more no less. How could there of been a more all along and the answers be here all along? "I didn't think there was a before." My voice quiets right down and head lowers, an almost shameful feeling washing through me. How could this have not been apart of my knowledge and why haven't I tried harder to learn what my 'before' was?

"Well of course there was." Tooth further clarifies "We were all someone before we were chosen." Is this really, finally happening? All those years of unanswered questions, loneliness and self doubt will finally be assisted.

This might Be the key to find out our centres....

"What?" Jack utters, still comprehending his disbelief.

Meanwhile back where they landed Sandy, Bunny and North stand gathered together as the jolly man pipes up with a chuckle.

"You should have seen Bunny!" Norths grin encases his face as he chuckles about the silly memory his thought of.

"Hey I told you to never mention that!" Bunny growls with a little growing embarrassment. What does Bunny have to hide, now I wonder what I've missed out on.

"The night at the pond, I just...Why I assumed..." Jack seems to have gathered a few thoughts together, his mind is still ticking over I can see it in his face. "Are you saying, are you saying I had a life? Before that, w- I- With a, with a home?" Jack brightens up, seeming excited with this new found news. "And- And Y/n and I have both been a part of our own families?"

Jack beams with anticipation his sport has really picked up while Tooth is now the one with slight shock. "You really don't remember?" She looks between the both of us.

"I don't have any recollection of a life before. It's just that night in the field, alone." I glumly think aloud. I've never known anything more than just what I have now.

"All these years the answers were right here..." Jack sighs, realising what I have too. "If we find our memories, then we'll know why we're here." Jack clasps my shoulder, eyes wide with anticipation and hope. "You have to show us!"

"I- I can't, Jack. Pitch has them." Tooth frowns deeply.

"Oh- well we have to get them back!" I exclaim looking between Tooth and Jack who's nodding along, catching on quickly.

"Oh no..." Yet Tooth is still only just starting to suffer the consequences of the loss of believers. Her feathers droop and begin to moult, dropping to the ground lifelessly as she lets out a heartbroken gasp. "We're too late." It's a terrible sight to see and i tugs at my hope.

"No!" North declares "No! No such thing as too late!" It's safe to say that with North around and his determination, he will not let this be the demise of the Tooth fairy. He hums with his mouth shut firmly as he thinks hard. I can almost see the cogs turning as he conjure up an idea. "Wait, wait, wait wait wait wait wait! ..." the Guardians, Jack and I wait patiently as the bearded man seems to have a light bulb moment. With a swipe of his sword it slashes through the air landing just beofre Bunny's nose who knows better than to stand in its way. "Idea! Hah! We! Will collect the teeth!" He guests between each of us enthusiastically.

"What?" Tooth gawks.

"We get teeth, children keep believing in you." He smiles brightly, surely if Mr. Claus himself feels confident in this idea than it has to be a good one.

"We're talking 7 continents, millions of kids!" Tooth reminds us of the importance and the amount of the load this job is that if usually felt with with hundreds of professional fairies.

"Give me break, you know how many toys I deliver in one night?" North scoffs playfully brushing of the concern.

"And eggs I hide in one day?" Bunny agrees, seeing this as an achievable goal for the night.

"And Jack, Y/n..." North and the other guardians turn to face us Jack crouched on the Rock I lean against. "If you help us, we will get you your memories." The jolly man pops and eyebrow, offering the help of a lifetime for our help to help a lifetime.

I take a moment to think this over, this is so important. This is Tooth's strength and purpose on the line here, and it's no easy job. Although, I think that Jack and I could keep up, we're pretty crafty. For the sake of the children of the world I think there's only one right answer and I think we're both on board and eager to help. With a quick look up to Jack I see his grinning eyes already looking down at me. Oh we're both thinking the same thing all right.

"We're in!" We declare.
