A few months had passed as Smokescreen and Tinker were getting the basics of the rules of being on Earth. Going on mission that were packed with action. "Seems you finally got your wish for some more action," Tinker had joked to Smokescreen. But with the Omega Key still inside of him, and Tinker's health was at risk. Smokescreen (when he could which wasn't often, since Acree watched them like a hawk) would heal him. The two didn't need to make a cover up for the key in Tinker ... because of Arcee. She punched Tinker in the energon processor, and the key was close to where that was. Smokescreen and Optimus heard Tinker's agonizing shouting. They rushed to him and took him to the med bay where Ratchet scanned him. He saw the Omega Key and told them the news.
"There's an Omega Key in him?" Raf said in astonishment.
"Yes." Ratchet turned sideways to Tinker. "Tinker, I'm going to remove it."
"Well, if ends my pain than I'll be fine." Tinker's voice was mixed with his pain. Smokescreen regrated not removing it when they first woke up on Earth. He saw Ratchet injected some fluids into Tinker's arm. His eyelids fell, Ratchet began the surgery, and Smokescreen never left the med bay.
