Screams fill the halls as dozens of people run around frantically, locking themselves in rooms, jumping out of nearby windows, and just general panic. Amongst the chaos stands the only singular calm person there, a 6 foot tall man dressed in a bluish-gray hoodie and pants. His face is covered with a mask that has a singular blue X in the middle of it. Slowly, the man reaches into his pocket, pulling out a gun.

He suddenly wakes up, swerving his car out of the way of an oncoming truck, just barely missing it. The man breathed heavily, rubbing the back of his head as the panic slowly subsided. "It was that dream again..." he said to himself, clutching the steering wheel slightly harder as continued to drive. He kept having the same dream over and over again. Originally he only saw it in his sleep but he recently had began day dreaming about it. No matter how hard he tried to forget, his mind wouldn't let him.
He entered a tunnel lit by yellow lights, replacing the light coming from the sun. His previously hardened grip on the steering wheel began to subside as he fell back into a state of calm, or at the very least, something close to it. Suddenly, his windshield would be hit with the bright light of the sun, coming out of the dimly lit tunnel. The man inside the car was greeted by buildings that stretched high into the sky, with them being covered in dozens of holographic billboards, each displaying their own product. He was filled with a sense of joy and renewal, a new home to call his.

He parked into the parking lot of an apartment building. The building looked different from the surrounding ones, looking like it hadn't been renovated since the 2050's. It was old, but, it would have to do. Slowly, he exited his car, being meet with a chill breeze that didn't bother him due to his bluish-gray hoodie that he always had. Walking over to the back of his car, he opened his trunk, grabbing some boxes inside of it. After retrieving what he needed, did he slowly begin to enter the apartment complex. He already had bought a room, question is, where is it?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After half an hour of searching did he finally find it. Putting his key into the nob of the door, he slowly twisted it, pushing it open slightly.
As he walked inside he was greeted by nothing but an empty square room. It wasn't much, or really anything at all, but it would do.
He sat his stuff down onto the floor before walking over to a window and peering outside of it. There it was, Neo City. Built off of the failed economy of Las Vegas and Las Angeles. Following World War 3, both cities failed to bring in money, leaving thousands starving. Together, the two populations went to the west coast of what was once Florida, founding an entire new city. The story was inspiring to say the least, especially to X, who had his own wild dreams and fantasies.
Looking down at his boxes on the floor, he sighed, beginning to unpack his stuff.
It had grown dark and he hadn't had a single bite to eat. Heading outside his apartment complex, he started to head to a nearby Sushi place, apparently, they served quite delicious meals there.
As he passed by an alley way, he noticed two women getting corned by two people that look like thugs. Although he tried to ignore it and keep walking, something today made him feel Farley compassionate.
He turned his head and slowly made his way down the alley, having a confident stride. One of the men noticed his presence and shouted "Get the hell out of here, this doesn't concern you!" When continued to walk down the alley despite his words, eventually stopping about 10 or so feet away from the two thugs. The same man who had shouted previously opened his mouth again "didn't you hear me?! This doesn't concern you! Now leave before you make me need to hurt 'ya" X stood there, still confident. Although, his head was slightly low, he was thinking for a moment before he replied. "Stop being jackasses and leave the poor girls alone. What did they do to you?" He asked, barely raising his voice. The grew visibly angry before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a knife. Before he could anything he, and the second thug fell to the ground, being knocked out by the two girls. "Well, wasn't expecting that" he said, looking down at the two men before raising his head up to look at the girls. "You ladies ok?" He asked, trying to get a good look at their faces in the dark lighting. "We're fine" one of the girls replied, picking up a bag of hers off the ground. "What did those two guys want with ya?" X asked, putting his hands into his pockets. "We just owed their boss so money is all. It's nothing you should be worried about." Before X could replied, the girl grabbed the other one and walked out of the alley, not saying anything else beyond that. X watched in silence as the two left. He started to assume they were twins due to them sharing a very similar appearance just different hair styles. He sighed, looking back down at the two thugs on the ground. Kneeling over their bodies, he inspected a logo on their shoulder. He quickly pulled out his phone, snapping a picture of it before getting up and leaving.
He woke up the next morning, rubbing his head. He slowly got up from the blow up mattress he was sleeping on and made his way to the window in his apartment. He looked out to the tallest building in the city. Neo Cities governmental facility. "Gonna have to strike big for that"
