Opposite Temperatures (Uranus X Earth / Uraearth Fanfiction) (Solarballs)

Chapter 4

Earth's POV:

     It's been a few weeks since I'd been comforted by Uranus and that was nice. Now they were visiting me and Luna very often. It seemed as if they were trying to get closer as friends with me. Even Luna has noticed this and has grown accustomed to their visits by now after a little over a month. Personally, I have nothing against that. In fact, I'm trying to befriend other celestial bodies and treat others better.

     This was just giving me butterflies in my stomach though. It's even almost starting to feel like the time I had a crush on Venus. That went well until I ultimately got rejected and Luna couldn't leave me a day without his comforting for weeks.

'That rejection sucked but I feel as if that wasn't the worst thing to happen in my love life though. I feel as if I was in a relationship with some planet at some point. Someone who I knew way long ago but can't seem to remember... damn my fuzzy memory...'

     I decided to talk to Mercury and  maybe even Venus about this since they might have some ideas. Maybe even some advice and support too! 'I doubt Venus would actually have good advice but maybe I'm wrong.'

     I started to make my way to the border of my orbit in the Goldilocks Zone where those two were. 'At least most likely...' This was also the perfect time to talk since Luna was hanging with other moons. Aside from that, getting this close to my border gave me uncomfortable flashbacks of that one time. 'That was in the past though and I'm now getting help to be better.'

     Finally, after getting super close to the border, I spotted Mercury and Venus. Floating closer to get a better look, it seemed like Venus was bullying Mercury again. Close enough to be heard,  I let out a small "ahem" to make my presence known. It was something that my dad Jupiter taught me. The two planets stopped to turn and see me.

     Venus was first to come closer to me with Mercury following close behind.

"Hey Earth. What are you doing out here by my orbit? Isn't like almost too hot for your Earthlings?"

"(Coming beside Venus) hi I-"

"Shut up pipsqueak."

"Whatever Venus... anyways, what brings you here to your border Earth?"

     I looked at them and took a deep breath before explaining myself. This was going to hit hard for me though if it went south and I was made fun of for my crush or whatever. 'Or maybe it would go north... northeast maybe? Okay. Now I'm starting to lose it.'

"I came to ask for advice on love and all that. Figured that you two were the best option."

     They both looked at me and blinked a few times before Mercury was first to speak up.

"Why don't you ask Jupiter and Saturn? Those two have been together since maybe even the beginning of the solar system."

"I'm afraid of what their attitude towards the person I like will be after I tell them. This being since they're kinda overprotective of me..."

"Well who is it that you like?"

     Venus asked in a sort of curious manner which I didn't expect from him being all tough and stuff. I also didn't expect this question to come up this quick. I decided it was safe though to tell these two. Besides, the other gas giants don't ever go past the asteroid belt at all or past Mar's orbit.

"It's Uranus..."
I said with a hint of shyness and embarrassment.

"Wow. I  wasn't expecting that."

"Is it bad to like them?"

"No, no. What Venus was trying to say is that we weren't expecting it to be one of the biggest planets of the solar system."

"Don't worry Earth. We won't tell Jupiter and Saturn but did you want your advice or not?"

     I had completely forgotten the point of coming here. Venus seemed to remember though. Maybe it was the fact that I was interrupting him bullying Mercury but that was done daily.

"Yes I do. I want to confess but I don't really know how..."

"Just speak from your core about how you truly feel and if your rejected then I'll beat some planet ass for you. None sexually of course."

     Me and Mercury both stared at Venus with shocked expressions. I didn't expect him to be supportive to that length but was extremely grateful of it.

"And if they can't see how amazing your love is then I will also beat their ass none sexually."

"Wow Venus, I was just going to suggest he gets a gift for them but that's actually better and more supportive."

"Shut your fucking mouth Pluto 2.0."

     Mercury shut up immediately as to not get pummeled in the face by asteroids thrown his way from Venus later. I was just soaking in his words though as my self esteem skyrocketed. I then realized I had to get back to where I was supposed to be. Luna would be getting back soon from hanging out with those other moons.

"Thanks Venus and Mercury! I have to go but thanks for the support!"

     As I turned to leave, Venus watched as Mercury waved bye. I could hear knuckles cracking though in the background as Venus seemed to be getting back to bullying Mercury. I didn't really care though since I had a confession of love to think over.

Mercury's POV:

     Venus was getting ready to continue beating me up before I had an idea.
"Hey Venus. Care to bet on their love if all goes well?"
     This made him stop and think before responding. His voice was slow but also confident.

"Betting bragging rights that they get married."

"Betting double the bragging rights that they share the same orbits to stay together."

     Venus goes silent after I say that before suddenly taking his fist to my face. I then make a mad dash as he chases me.

End of Chapter 4. This was the longest I've ever written before and I'm so happy. 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷. Anyways, sorry this came out late. Testing has been taking up my time so Chapter 5 may take longer. More characters are going to make an appearance though. Word count: 1061
