Jordan didn't really know what time it was when she opened her eyes again. All she really knew was that she wasn't alone. She didn't even need to be fully cognizant to know what was wrapped around her right now. Or rather, who was laying on the lower feathers of her wings, cuddled up to her sides. She blinked open her eyes and it took her a moment to adjust to the darkness. Then she looked down and finally saw the three girls curled up around her. Surprisingly, none of them were on top of her this time, which means she had a bit more breathing room.

Unfortunately, all three were curled into her wings, messing the feathers. She didn't care about the feathers being messed up. At least not right now. She was feeling surprisingly awake despite having only just opened her eyes. She yawned and attempted to move her wings. She managed to slide one of them out but the other was being firmly gripped by Daniela. She reached down and gently ran a hand through the vampires hair and she gave a soft purr of satisfaction before loosening her grip enough to free the wing.

She heard whines of protest from all three girls and it almost made her chuckle as she pulled herself up. But they still remained laying on the pile of blankets. She stretched her wings out and her arms as well. Jordan didn't know why she was so awake right now. But she found herself moving forward regardless. She was careful not to make too much noise as she slipped on the shoes that she had previous set aside so she could sleep. Then she exited the space and made her way over to the opening in the wall that overlooked the dam. She looked down at the controls and noticed that it probably hadn't been activate for awhile. Strange.

But as the night breeze hit her wings, she found herself sighing. The wind rustled her feathers. Maybe that's why she woke up. She found herself raising her wings slightly, as if she was about to take off. But she stopped herself immediately upon remembering that she hadn't flown for....awhile probably. Would she still remember to fly? She had many memories of her flights, and how enjoyable they were, but could she still manage such a thing?

Perhaps it was because she had just woke up, or it was because her mind was all over the place. But something told her that she needed to move. She needed to fly. She didn't even realize that she had taken a step forward until the floor was no longer underfoot. She widened her eyes and everything seemed to move in slow motion she saw the rushing water of the river below coming closer and closer as she fell. But still, she wasn't panicking. Instincts entirely overwrote her fear and she spread her wings out to the sides, and the wind immediately caught them.

Jordan found herself letting out a gasp of surprise as she launched herself up into the air with one huge flap of her wings. The night air was cold and her hair whipped every which way. And yet, a smile overtook her face and she found herself laughing. She got a good distance up in the sky before she steadied herself in place, flapping her wings every chance to keep herself up. Surprisingly, her wings weren't tired. Quite the opposite. She felt like a huge amount of her energy had been restored and she had a huge weight off her shoulders.

She could see a lot from up here. She could see the moon in full view, illuminating the village from her vantage point. She could see the castle, and a factory further off. She could see all the mangled houses as well. She couldn't see the Beneviento estate from here but she only imagined that it was because it was shrouded in fog. Regardless of what she could and couldn't see, she felt amazing. It was like a part of her was now fixed. She could fly again. This could solve so many of their problems and save them much more time. She excitedly began to descend back to the gatehouse.

But instead of landing inside, Jordan landed on the roof of it. She winched at the loud thump her boots made when they touched down on the creaking wood, but she only hoped it didn't wake the girls up. Her thrill was slowly wearing off, and she calmingly stared up at the moon now. It wasn't full quite yet. But it might reach it in a couple more nights. She let her wings settle on her back once more. This was nice. Regaining such a useful and freeing ability.
