[The Next Day]
Jordan had a lot of time these past few days to think. She thought about her whole life, and she thought about her experiences here. She thought about the final message her father gave her. Everything. Even before she realized it herself, her decision was already made. She knew what she was going to do, but she didn't know if she had the strength left to do it.
Standing in her bedroom, she stared out the window. She was able to see the moon from this side of the castle. She felt inexplicably drawn towards it. Perhaps it was because of her promise to her father. The promise they both broke. How naive had she been back then to believe that she could just do something like that? Perhaps she's read too many stories after all. She let out a long sigh as she gently placed her fingers upon the cold glass.
This all should've been so easy. It should've been so easy to finally leave everything behind. But she hadn't expected to fall in love. She hadn't expected to find a place here. Even if she was never truly free here, at least she was safe. And that was all that truly mattered. Or so she thought. With the threat of Mother Miranda still looming over her, along with the fact that she still technically belonged to the Dimitrescu house. And she was certain that there were more factors that she wasn't aware of. She would never live comfortably, without guilt, or without worry.
Jordan sighed and stepped away from the window, pulling her wings tightly around her body in order to comfort herself. She knew what she had to do, but she didn't have the resolve. She couldn't talk to anyone besides Aslan about this, because he was the only one that wasn't originally from this village. He had something to go back to if this all fell apart. He understood the need to leave. The angel placed a hand against her heart, feeling the way it ached. Eventually, she heard the telltale sound of flies buzzing, and she knew one of the sisters were making their presence known. This was confirmed by the gentle hand on her back.
"Jordan? You're trembling. What's wrong?" She heard Bela's voice say.
Without warning, and in an action that even startled herself, Jordan spun around and trapped the blonde vampire in a hug. She wrapped her wings tightly around both of them. Although Bela's body was not warm, the coolness that she had seemed to smother the fire that was burning around Jordan's body at all times. Bela held her close, and allowed Jordan to bury her face in her chest. They remained like that for another few minutes until Jordan finally pulled herself back, keeping her eyes off to the side. That is, until she felt a cold touch on her cheek and her head was directed back to Bela's worried face. The angel leaned into the cool touch, still unable to look into the other's eyes.
"Jordan. You can talk to me. Please tell me what's on your mind. I won't judge you. I promise." Bela said, giving a reassuring smile, accented by her fangs.
"I love you." Jordan said without wasting another second.
To her own amusement, Bela's face became slightly red once she heard the declaration. She sputtered out a few noises before she finally managed to make a comprehendible sentence.
"W-what's this all about?" Bela stammered.
Jordan faltered slightly. She had definitely been too forward with that. While she knew Daniela loved her, she couldn't confirm if the other two did, and she didn't know if they only found her amusing as a pet of sorts. Even thinking about that word made her tremble. Had she misunderstood their intentions this entire time? Did they not actually love her? She clenched her teeth slightly. That didn't sound right. They treated her so well.
"I'm...sorry. I shouldn't have said that...but I wasn't lying....you three did something to my heart, and I don't even know if this wasn't what you wanted to happen. You guys saved me. It hurt at first to be here, but you all changed to accommodate me. You treated me so well. Better than I've ever been treated after death. But....I needed to tell you that I love you. Even if you don't feel the same." Jordan said, keeping her head down and her eyes closed.
