You wake up, strapped to a chair with duct tape covering your mouth. You try to scream, but realize you can't since your mouth is taped shut. You look up to see a familiar face, smiling and holding a fire axe behind his back. You can't help but stare into his eyes, despite the situation, basking in their beautiful glow. For a second, you don't even care that he's clearly about to kill you.

"Look what we have here..." Henry says, holding up a stack of documents. Seeing the document on top, you immediately recognize the name of your game. "Reclamation... but hmm, we can't have anyone finding these now, can we?"

He rips the documents to shreds, dropping the pieces on the floor like confetti. You are heartbroken seeing this, but only for a second. The game wasn't all that good anyway, you think. The documents were doomed to be ripped, and you'd rather it be Henry than the boss. Plus, if you're going to die anyway, you don't want your game idea being put out to the world. It's your game, in your world. Without you, the game shouldn't be published.

"It's a shame I have to do this to you, (Your name here)." Henry says, resting his axe on the ground for a second. "You were so good to the company. The boss found you likable." He lowers his voice a little bit. "I mean... the boss finding you likable is nothing to brag about, though."

You look up at him. You would shout at him to get to the point, but... well... my mouth is taped shut.

"You climbed up the ranks faster than anyone else during my time at this company. You're still an intern, and the boss considers you his best employee." Henry says. "I'm jealous of you, (your name here). At least I was getting paid more than you. You're so high and mighty because you're yet to be put in your place." Henry pauses. "And now, we're here. In the server room. You're about to be put in your place. Any last words?"

He rips the duct tape off of your mouth. It hurts.

"Well? Anything you want to say before you die?"

You only think for a second. You've got nothing to lose, so why not confess your love to him?

"I love you—" You say.

Henry quickly picks up the axe. "Ew, no. Good thing I chose to get rid of you." He gets another piece of tape and puts it over your mouth. "So you don't scream. Wouldn't want to get caught alive or dead with you, simp."

You close your eyes, tense, as prepared as you can be for getting chopped up with an axe. Henry swings the axe at your legs, cutting them off. You suddenly feel an immense amount of pain, more than any pain you've ever felt and ever will feel. You can't even try to scream. You wish he just went for the head first, but apparently he just wanted you to feel pain first.

"How did that feel?" Henry asks. "I bet it hurt even worse than seeing you get all that recognition did to me. Maybe worse than it would have if you weren't such a simp. Must've hurt so bad, seeing your crush slice your legs off. Oh, wait... you didn't see it. You closed your eyes."

You open your eyes and look at him.

"Your drink earlier... the coffee. It tasted a bit off, didn't it?" Henry says. You look up at him, angry and shocked. You both stare at each other for a bit, and in your final moments, you can't help but think about how your relationship with Henry could've been if this wasn't the outcome.

He lifts the axe up to your neck. "You're a simp. You and your game are both trash. I hope you knew that before I had to tell you."

He takes the final swing, cutting off your head.
