Sunday morning
Las VegasElina
I haven't slept anything last night. I still couldn't believe what happened. I got kidnapped when I was one year old. My real surname was Piastri. I'm Australian. My whole life was a huge lie.
Every time I checked my phone new articles of me were posted.Elina Piastri- Lost sister of McLaren driver Oscar Piastri
New wag- Lando Norris' girlfriend identified as the sister of teammate Oscar Piastri
I was afraid of returning to the paddock. Moderators would be asking hundreds of questions about my life. Oscar would probably already have been interviewed a couple of times today. In the end I decided to go and watch the race. Oscar needed my support. And I needed to talk to Lando.
Arriving at the paddock I straight went to the McLaren hospatility. I wore a cap and sunglasses to cover my face. Luckily I didn't met any moderators on my way. When I arrived at McLaren the team just finished lunch. I remembered that I didn't eat yet today but I ignored it.
"Elina!" Lando smiled at me when he noticed me. I went to him and we kissed. "Lando, can I talk to you?" I asked straight ahead. I didn't know how he would react, but I really needed to talk to him. "Yeah, sure. Tell me everything." I took a deep breath and started "You know about me and Oscar, right?" He nodded. "It doesn't change anything right?" "Of course not Elina. I fell in love with you not with your family." I smiled grateful and he gave me kiss on the forehead. "I have to go now, the race is staring soon. Do you want to join me?" I nodded and we went to the garage.
On the way we got interrupted by some moderators. Shit.
"Lando! We need to ask you some questions!" "Tell us a bit about your new girlfriend!"
I looked at Lando not knowing what to do. He stood in front of me to cover me a bit. Cameras were flashing and more questions were asked.
"To make it clear. Yes, she is my girlfriend and no I'm not going to tell you anything further about it." Lando said and grabbed my hand to leave. Luckily the moderators didn't follow us. "Are you alright?" Lando asked me when we arrived at the garage. I nodded relieved "Yeah, I'm good. I'm just wondering how you can handle all this stuff." "You get used to it after a time. But it's totally annoying." He explained. I knew that I would need to handle such kind of situation one day. And it scared me. If you say just one wrong word the whole internet is gonna know it. One little clue of a secret and everyone is going to talk about it. Just like rumours are going around in Highschools.
"Don't worry, the press is not that high at the academy" Lando promised me and gave me a kiss on the head. I smiled grateful.Lando left to get changed and I walked to Oscar who was already at his car. "Good morning!" I greeted him nicely. He turned to me and smiled "Morning! How are you?" "Could be better" I sighed. "Yeah, me too. But let's see the good in it. Finally a sister who shares the same interests like me." We both laughed at his little joke. I didn't know my other siblings yet. I didn't even know if I really wanted it. I didn't know my real family. And it didn't felt like they were really my family. They were strangers. The conversation between Oscar, me and our mother yesterday was strange. Most of the time we just asked each other questions about the past. Oscar and I were twins. Our neighbours always called us the chaos twins. Once one of us was silent the other one started to cry. Although we just had one year together and I didn't remember anything about it, our mother told us some funny stories about our past.
"Feels crazy, huh? Having a family you never knew about?" Oscar asked me as he put on his helmet. "Definitely. I mean you already knew you have a lost sister, but I knew nothing." Our mother already told Oscar that the had a sister who was kidnapped at young age. I never had the change to find out.
I wished Oscar good luck and went to Lando who was getting ready too. "Are you excited for the race?" I asked him. He seemed a bit nervous. "Absolutely. Las Vegas is one of the most exciting tracks in the whole calendar" Lando said. I understood his words. Las Vegas was a beautiful city. I wonder what it feels like driving a car at night with thousands of people around you, while knowing you're in this amazing city. I gave Lando a kiss on his helmet "Drive safe! And good luck!" He got in his car and I went back to the vip area to watch the race. I noticed Bianca and went to her "Hey, Bia!" "Elina! Nice to see you!" She smiled at me. We talked a bit about the upcoming Monday and she told me some things about the academy. I didn't know anyone of the other drivers but Bianca only told me good news about them. The race was going great for Lando and Oscar. Through the time both of them were on p2. Not to get Max Verstappen. The Dutch driver was always about 7 seconds ahead. No chance to catch up on him. In the end Oscar was on p4 while Lando finished on the podium on p3.
The drivers parked their cars in order of their finish. Together with the team I ran to Lando to celebrate his podium. I gave him a strong hug "Congratulations! You did great!" I saw his eyes gleaming through the helmet. At this time I didn't care about the cameras in the back. For me it was just important to cheer my boyfriend on at his finish. May the internet be full of new articles. I didn't care.————————
