In the quiet sanctuary of my room, I lost myself in the written word. The pen flowed effortlessly across the pages of my notebook, capturing the jumbled thoughts and emotions that swirled within. The rhythmic sound of rain outside provided a soothing backdrop to my solitary pursuit.
Suddenly, the tranquility was shattered by the abrupt intrusion of Scott. He stood in the doorway, his gaze fixed on me, his eyes distant and lost.
'Scott? Are you okay? Do you need something?' I asked, a hint of concern creeping into my voice. But he remained silent, his expression blank.
'Scott, you worry me.'
A faint whisper escaped his lips, barely audible above the patter of rain. 'She's beautiful.'
'Are you talking about Allison ?'
'Is that really a question?' He said ironically.
'Anyway she came by the clinic and she was really scared but I helped her.' He started talking really fast I couldn't understand anything.
'Okay ,okay slow down and and explain to me what happened.'
He took a deep breath and started talking.
'I was about to close the clinic so I flipped the close sign on the door . I had some bandages in my hand , I approached the mirror and I lifted my shirt. I ripped off the old bandage with closed eyes. Then I found my self looking at nothing . The bite was gone ,it is gone . Some time later as I was about to close for the night I sensed someone outside. I walked at the door and I saw Allison soaking wet ,crying and pounding at the door with her fists. I unlocked the door very surprised to see her there. I greeted her awkwardly. But see was she was distracted about something and see didn't waste any time to tell me
'I didn't see it ,I took my eyes of the road for ,like, two seconds to change the song and then this dog ,it just came out of nowhere!'
I was listening very carefully and I tried to calm her ' It's alright. Do you remember where it happened so I can send the animal control to find it ?'
'No , I mean yes ,I know where I hit it but the dog...'
'Right where is it ?'
'In my car .'
We went to her car while holding an umbrella, I opened the hatchback to reveal an injured stray. Allison reaches in to pick him up but the dog snaps at her . She flinched back ,stepping into my arms .'
'How romantic it's cute .'I interacted him . Scott frowned to me and mumbled something to himself that I couldn't understand.
He continued ' 'You okay ?' I asked her . She nodded for response .
'She's just frightened. '
'That makes two of us .'
'Let me see if I have a better luck. '
I looked at the dog , keeping an eye contact which it tricked the dog's instincts and and didn't do anything . I brought it to the exam room and checked the injuries that the dog had.
' I think her leg is broken . I've seen the doctor do plenty of splints . I can do it myself and then give her painkillers for now .' She nodded again and then I saw that she was shivering from the cold so I cave her my extra shirt. '
'What a gentleman...' I mumbled which caused Scott roll his eyes .
'ANYWAY, to shorten the story we will go to a party together. '
