Some occult circles make use of "siren" as a word to refer to trials one experiences in their spiritual path that threatens to take them off. In that context, Adonis becomes Adam's siren, forcing him into a state of personal conflict.

You might note an interesting dichotomy between Paul and Adonis, one being a sort of guardian angel figure and the other being the Adversary of sorts...
