9. Rescue

[AlEXANDER'S POV]

"I literally saw her coming from here but then when I got distracted and I turned around to get her she was not there" Jessica says

It's been 1 hour since all the cops and investigators are finding her but we got nothing

She wasn't picking up my call, I've tired 30 times we all were yelling here and there just for the sake of her life, I even called home but servant said she wasn't there, now my mind was literally filled with thoughts of what will happen to her, if something happens to her-I'll never forgive myself for that.

A voice came from alley, as someone fired a gun;

We all looked at each other, as I followed the voice of gun shot. What if--- nothing will happen to her, I yelled her name again

"I'm here" a weak voice came from back

I didn't think anything. I ran

Another gunshot fired, and I flinched

I found her; her condition wasn't well. Look like someone punched her, I grabbed her arm with firm hands, her body trembles I shield her

"you're okay. I'm here" I finally took her body in my arms

I guided her to the nearby bench

We couldn't reach the exit without passing it directly by the shooter, where there was no cover at all, so we would have to wait until the police find anything there.

I nodded at Jessica as she came to her, I made her sit with Jessica "wait here until I come here again" I ordered "don't let anyone come near you"

"Where are you going"

"Someone has to find him" I blunt out

"It doesn't have to be you. The polic-" I didn't let her speak

"don't go anywhere" I left

[SONAKSHI'S POV]

He was gone

"What happened there are you shot" Jessica checks my body and covered me with a coat

"I'm fine"

"But who fired the gun" she says "who was him"

"Madam you both should go home we're here to investigate now" A police man says

"Yes, you should go home and take care and we will talk about this later" she pats my shoulder

I hide my gun properly in the coat as I nodded and hugged her

"It was Reyansh" I whispered

Her arms tighten around my body

"What that bastard was doing there" she whispered

"He had a gun so I shot on his left leg" I nodded as I backoff

"We will talk about this in private" she went with Sebastian

I was all alone, waiting for alexander

His arms brought the warmth for a second

Reyansh ran away, he deserved it. I didn't get anything to attack him so I knew if I didn't shoot him I could've not make it

A cry left my mouth, the words of him cycled through my mind like it's the most horrified mantra in the world.

In the distance, police sirens wailed.

"you're shot?" he fixed my coat

"No, I'm fine bullet were fired but not on me" the emergency medical technicians had already checked me, and I'll be fine in two or three weeks.

"You were bleeding" alexander brushed his hand over my bandaged wound

I smiled softly "did that hurt" he asked

"no" not in the way it should be hurt

He was looking at me, he was scared that I might disappear if he blinked

I look so bad my hair were mess and dirt were smearing my dress, when I tried to fight back- Reyansh pushed me

We sat in the back of the ambulance for a while longer watching the police seal the crime scene while I tried not to think about anything

[A SMALL POV OF ALEXANDER]

I hold her close to mine so close, I was not protective to anyone at all but this was different

Part of me wanted to push her away, but another part of mine wanted to drag her into my arms mine forever and keep her as mine and only mine.

Sonakshi was too young, too innocent, and too off limit, and I'd damn better not forgot that. I needed to protect HER;
