Fuck, I just made myself look creepy as hell. I turn away awkwardly and decided i wasn't waiting for Jake and Johnnie to come back any longer. I started making my way around the house, just roaming I guess. I noticed a lot of the guys there were staring at me. I made my way towards the back door, moved the white sheer curtain and slid open the sliding door. Surprisingly there was no one out there. Not a single person, maybe they were all too drunk in their to notice there was even a back yard.
I shut the door and make my way towards the pool. I don't plan on getting in, but the bright colorful LED lights inside are attracting me to it. I scan the backyard and see the wooden tree swing hanging by its ropes on each side, it's been there since forever. I go sit on it . You can't really see it when you first step out to the back, you have to walk around the corner to the big tree a few feet away, their back yard was huge and very greeny.
I pull out my phone and check the time , 10:30. I really wanted to just go home now. I get on Instagram and see all the stories of the party that I'm at, the stories of everyone having fun. I click my phone off and turn it facing down on my lap as I look up and gaze at the sky. I stay like this for about 5 minutes . Just slightly swinging and looking up. I heard the music get loud suddenly. The door must have opened. Then it got muffled again. Someone was out here. I froze. But I was sure that I wouldn't be bothered as I had said you can't really see me first glance out the door.
Then I see him step around the corner. Him.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't realize someone was already out here" he says making eye contact with me .
I must have had the look of total shock on my face as I was there silently for what seems like eternity. "You okay?" He says, hesitantly and curiously. I find my breath again and finally speak. "Yea, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stare" I said embarrassingly. " earlier or now?" He says with a small smile on his face easing my nervousness a bit but increases my embarrassment. "Both times I guess, I'm sorry if it weirded you out" I say looking away from him.
"It's okay, I wasn't uncomfortable by it, being an influencer you get used to the stares, don't you y/n" he says. I look up at him. "Mind if I join you on the swing bench? I kind of need to get away from all the noise and the crowd for a bit". He knew me? I wonder how he knew who I was . " yea , I could kinda use the company right now" I say with a soft smile as he makes his way and sits next to me.
"So, why are you out here?" He says shifting his head so he can look at me. "I only really know Jake and Johnnie here, and they kinda forgot about that and went to go have fun and I lost them in there" I say as I shift so that I too am now looking at him.
"You?" I say, trying to make conversation. I feel comfortable speaking to him. I usually don't really feel like that with people I just meet. "Too much going on in there I just needed to step out for a bit you know" he says scanning me . "Yea I get that" I say understandingly.
"Im Matt, incase you didn't know" he says as he extends his hand for me to shake it. "Im y/n" I return as I take his hand softly. He smiles softly , and for a second we just look at each other. Someone shouting in the distance breaks our silence. "MATTHEWWWWWW" someone yells . Matt turns, embarrassed . "MATTHEWWWWWW?" , another prolonged yell. "WHAT NICK" he responds to the voice . "CAN WE GO NOW? CHRIS IS HALF ASLEEP AND IM GETTING TIRED, ARE YOU OUT HERE ALONE? WHERE ARE YOU??" This person named Nick shouts back. And before Nick could come investigate, Matt gets up and turns to me "it was nice meeting you , y/n" "it was nice meeting you too Matt" I respond as he slowly starts walking away, still facing me, looking at me once more before completely turning away and turning the corner. "hurry up let's go" I hear Nick tell him making sure to annunciate every word. "I'm coming you damn baffoon, get out of my face" I hear Matt clap back. I giggle.
I ended up sitting out there for about 10 more minutes before I decide to leave myself. I walk through the house and out the front with the eyes of men still lurking on me. I get in my car and put on my seat belt. Before I get ready to turn on my car and start driving , I get a notification.
